//I've been meaning to post this for a while actually, and I believe one of the proposals Xndar has talked about in the General IC board (Hell hounds to help guard the facility) though I could be wrong on this.

Miriael approaches her immediate superior with a few proposals for upgrading the prisons security and equipment.
1) Request for new Equipment: Shriver. A Phelgethos specialty, the Shriver is a sophisticated torture device constructed of Baatorian green steel and animated by magic. The primary use of a shriver is to render souls into soul material and proto-lemures, thus rendering it an excellent device for executing those who've magical means to prolong their lifespans, such as Lich's or powerful mages.
2) Request to upgrade prison security with Hell hounds. While my inspection of the prison facilities have shown few holes in security, it is to be noted that the courtyard is fairly exposed, and having hounds around the facility, both within and without, to sniff out intruders and/or would be escapees would be a significant boon.
Both these things may be obtained by myself with relative ease, the hounds coming from the kennel of an associate of mine.
\\More proposals may come at a later date.

The proposals take a day or two to bounce around the chain of command, before Miriael finds a folded letter in her personal box at the Prison.

"There may be some merit to your proposals. Explain your ideas to Factotum Phoebe, head Tormenter of the Deep Cells. Having more direct experience of the specifics of punishment and capture than I, she can better decide if such things merit further study. However, you should avoid discussion of either motion with the Swan's Son, for reasons which should be obvious."

The seal of Alisohn Nilesia is impressed at the bottom.

((If you want, I may be able to be in-game tonight if you'd like to do an initial live interview, although if the discussion goes beyond that it will probably need to be done through forums. -Cere))

A missive finds its way onto the desk of Factol Alisohn Nilesia.

Dearest Factol,
Our hopes are realized, she's an old-time sodkiller at heart, as axomatic as they come and with a most appealing dark streak. Please assign the lass to the deep cells, and we'll see if she can back up the talk.

Within a few day cycles, a small team of imps arrive with the device, quickly assembling it in the execution chambers.

One interesting thing about the Prison in Sigil is that, opposed to other places of incarceration across the multiverse, there is hope in hopelessness. Few other places might one find baatezu and asura in side-by-side cells, or primes walking the yard with slaadi and elementals. Certainly, such exotic beings might be found in the sweltering pits of Dis or some Carcerian fortress, but there is quite the difference. Once you're in those places, there's not really any way for it to get worse; while on the Primes, anything beyond one's current situation tends to be unimaginable for the small minds there.

In Sigil, however, it's a known fact that Sigil is only a stopping-point. Existence will go on, and there is no question that there are worse eternal fates than being in the questionable care of the Mercykillers.

So it was for one Dagryl Bax, a tiefling whose decade or so of imprisonment was about to come to an end. Not a pleasant end with a small bag of jink and freedom, no, but rather a sudden end involving a noose which, despite the bloodthirsty reputation of the current factol of the Red Death, in this case was entirely warranted. Dozens of murders throughout the Hive and Lower Wards, involving the despoiling of victims both pre-and post-death, gave her a bit of infamy among those who follow such things, while her past as a noted Sensate even made these tales more lurid, consdering that in court she brazenly claimed that it was all done simply to add to the sum of known experience. Whispers even told of sensory stones still in the possession of the Society of Sensation, chronicling not only her experience of the slayings, but that of the slain themselves.

But that is not today's story. No, today comes from the realization which Dagryl had come to, that her actions in life would surely condemn her immortal soul to the deepest and most terrible place in the afterlife, where her suffering would make that of her victims seem like a holiday.

And this is why, when Factotum Phoebe made a suggestion, she accepted. A complete and total end of things within the Shriver seemed preferable to the alternative, so long as she would be allowed to record her end in a sensory stone. And so it was that as the day neared, Bax seemed to be at a strange sense of peace. Whether such was warranted... well, now that is an entirely different question.

Rumor tells of something dark occurring within the deepest cells of the prison, something of screams and blood, the flaying of skin and shattering of souls. For several days, Alisohn Nilesia and some of her innermost group are seen casting knowing, secretive smiles at one another, while a disgusted scowl graces the visage of Arwyl Swan's Son, who refuses to speak about what may have happenned. Some new tool of axiom? A forgotten relic brought up from the grotto? Nobody seems to know, or at least be willing to tell of what occurred where only members of the Red Death could see. Certain faction members seem to have gained prestige after whatever happenned; true promotion, or incentive towards silence?

But one darker rumor seems to spread behind the first. Rumor of a sensory stone holding the most fearsome of sensations.
