Zoel looked satisfied for the first time in a long time. She signed the appropriate warden documents and passed them to the Justicar to approve. Yuren smirked dryly and hissed with her tounge clattering.
"Clever... do not play this game too frequently Zoel, but very clever... ill make sure no one asks... about your project... for now, lie low on this affair and make sure this girl is.... appropriatley handled, if this works out, we can try a more... daring experiment later."
Zoel grinned with silent pride and a cautious nod. She indulged herself the right t be proud, she had outwitted that twerp Fargul Berndotte.
I will not be humilated. She snarled a moment at the memory of her defeat, but quickly regained her composure at her new prize.
She looked at the girl in the cell and snickered.
"Your luck has run out, girl... enjoy hell, you'll be staying in it for quite some time... but when you leave... you will be as I... you will be perfected."
She walked away in dark delight of her deed.

What happened? She just wanted to find out about the rumors of her rehabilitated brother and now this? In a cell? With this terrible twisted person? What was she supposed to do now? Why her? Why couldn't it stop?
She sat in a dark corner of her mind. Crawled together like an embryo. She wanted it to stop. Where was her brother? The one she heard rumors of all the time? Was it really his fault? Why--
That was when she felt it. The furry paw at her bag. In panic she turned around and saw a massive thing approaching her. But she wasn't in her cell. She was in a wasteland. The thing before her looked like a female lioness. Althought it had the wings of an eagle and the eyes appeared somewhat more humanoid. Also the tail looked like that of a snake. It was wild and yet majestic aswell.
"Hello, Devourer of Words. It was about time we met."
Regina looked up at the being. It reminded her of the drawings of a Sphinx from her books. Regardless of all the terrors she faced, the being scared her. It felt as if it had always been here, in her very own head. Yet it was something to chase away all the monsters. Something at her side.
"W-who are you?"
"I am many things. The one who walks laughing over the battlefield. The Laughing Sword. Or simply Kor son of Farmerlor. I am here for you. I will get us out of here. Just you watch. And then all those who must pay, will pay."
Regina only nodded, timidly. The Sphinx or Kor had a soothing voice. Yet at the same time she could hear the insanity inside his voice. The Cold Collected voice of a killer and ruthless warrior. And yet it seemed funny. Yes, all this was just a joke. The pun being that Zoel-woman. A door opened wide. The girl went through and found herself in a large library again. It was the one from her youth, when she lived in her Grandparent's house. Often enough it was her haven of safety. The doors closed again and all she could see through them was the nodding Sphinx.
"Now it is time for this one to take up her heritage. HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAA"
The girl began to do something strange. Over the tortures, her wincing and sniffling... Turned into a soft and quiet, yet firm Giggle. With every strike and every attempt of intimidation was met with Giggling. And sometimes even Acceptance and signs of Obedience.

Zoel studied the madness each day as if a progressing study of the human psyche, she wondered if she had truley broken her or if she had pushed to far. She had hoped the Gatehouse wounldnt take Regina, she was too useful now, too useful to be disposed of...
Bernadotte would weep to see the sight of her work, she grinned delightedly. When he finally did of course, to see what had been done to his sister, she could only imagine the outrage, the tears, the bitter screams of anger and cursing.
Fargul, was too physical to be tourtured, she would not give him the honor. Besides, it would do little good to a man that reveled in violence, this would significantly hurt him tenfold. To see his sister broken, damaged and shattered, this she knew, would strike a nerve.
And that was exactly, what she wanted.
She had Regina forcefully trained aswell, when she wasnt tourturing her, she was forcing her through the drill course with other prisoners, rough prisoners, the kind that didnt mind a pretty woman in their cell. She wanted to make life hell for the girl and she would push her to her limit, she would "break" her compleatley.
She set her in the arena against weaker foes first, to her credit the girl was puny, she wouldnt last a moment against a real enemy. But these fights were 'always' to the death.
She did not give her the mercy of a quick death or an eternity falling down the endless well. She wanted the process to hurt her, because when her brother saw her, he would see 'everything' Zoel had made.
Another sharp drill down the obsticle course and she was done for the day, forcefully run through blades, jagged spikes and other unpleasant death-creating machines that killed several of her fellow prisoners right before her eyes. She enjoyed making sure Regina saw the horror that she was subject to, because only the strong survived it.
And she would rebuild the shattered woman into a perfect engine...

What began with terror and fear... Continued with Acceptance. The prisoners in her cell tried to touch her... But quickly she jumped at them. Biting, scratching and even tearing ears off. Zoel might be surprised at how quickly she became violent.
After an extremely bloody run through the Drill course, she was out of breath and out of power. Bleeding like a sow she would look up to Zoel:
"Does that please you?"
Regina began becoming cold. Fear turned into rage... Rage turned into Coldness. But that cold face was imprinted by such a horribly wide smile over time, that even some of the older prisoners referred to her as the "Laughing Ripper".
If even researched, that title could be found somewhere else in the Triad's records. Of a man in a cell, who would laugh every time he was capable of injuring someone.
After some time, she began staring at Zoel, every time she would present herself:
"When do I get to punish you?"
Disturbingly, she took her lessons in better and better.

Zoel managed what could be considered a twisted grin herself. She struggled not to display her blissful delight at how well forged Regina had become in such a short span of time.
But the girls will had been weak... it was almost to be expected that the weaker they are, the stronger they became.
"I have yet to be guilty of a crime.... you must learn the difference between punishment and desire... let me imprint it into your mind."
And so she did.... spending the next part of her lessions showing her victims to be tourtured, forcing her to sit with other Prisoners that were to be reforged into Mercykillers through borishly long lessons. However boring, she made sure Regina was not allowed to escape the tennants of mercy, she made her learn every one of them untill they were boared into her like a religious fanatic.
She made her a machine, unaware of the beast within, she forged the woman into something she could use. She kept this routeen up untill she was able to preach the eight commandments to herself without the need for Zoel to be present, untill she was a zealot of order of law of duty.
Of course, Regina was entitled to "like" her duty, Zoel liked to punish herself, when she had the chance.... Regina was an opportunity, there were some things she did not intend to teach the girl, not yet, not ever even.
But that wouldnt likley keep her Justicar from doing the same.
Infact Regina was closley watched by Yuren Xaosbane every day, the Yuan-ti pureblood wore a chainmail helmet that covered all but her green scaled face and black slit eyes. Her expecting look watched eagerly from the courtyards in her battle plate, consantly observing Zoel, constantly observing her quarrey and wondering what could be forged.
Zoel didnt intend to let her Justicar take 'all' the glory for herself.
"Regina... you may loathe me but you will also thank me for all I have done one day..." She said almost calmingly to the girl, like a mother to a daughter, in the queerest manner she sat by her side one day.
"You may hate everything you have suffered but it is that hatred that fuels you, that hatred that makes you strong... but you must keep it leeshed.... you must learn to let it burn inside you... the time is not yet right to be unleashed child."
She almost groomed her hair for once when she spoke. "You are perfect to every calculation I expected, your brother would envy no... fear what you have become... and you must remember, he has every reason to be afraid.... it should be him in this prison, not you... never you. But you were chosen, and now you should thank me... because now you have the chance to do to him what I could not... you have the chance to punish him."
She paused a moment, wondering if the papers would be ready. "Soon, I will have permission to let you out into the world again... soon, not too soon but soon. When this happens you will be sent to the Harmonium Barracks... where I am told Fargul is being kept..."
She smiled.
"When you arrive there, I want you to tell him who did this to you, I fully expect him to see what I have made you.... I want you to make him suffer... as you have suffered.... you can feel it dont you? You can feel the jealousy in you... why should he have it easy, and youhave been made to be hurt..."
Her expression seemed amused at the sight of all the blood and gore that had been left around her cell from the prisoners that had tried to have their way with her. She wanted them to fail, she delighted in seeing and leaving their remains as a reminder to the others... she wanted Regina to see the decorations as a reminder to herself, every day, that she should pray to law for the chance to do it again... she should pray to Justice for the opportunity to bring punishment, to those guilty that deserved to suffer.
"You are my masterpiece... I am proud of you.... and unlike my mistress before you... I will not leave you penned forever... you have earned your freedom and soon, you will be given the chance, to change yourself forever my child."
She put the badge of the Mercykillers infront of her.
"You can remain a slave to fate or control it.... but Justice rules us all and decides when we are to be punished and to be forgiven. You are forgiven now.... your crimes are healed... you have done and learned more or less all you can... I leave you now to muse on the days ahead... soon you will be free, very soon."
She left her to the dark and to the screaming prisoners torments.

Regina looked at the badge and took it for herself. All she said was
"Good". Then she returned to her cell and smiled... Waiting for her imprisonment to end. To face her brother finally. The Sphinx smiled aswell. Soon the time had come to end this farce.
Then it was time to start the real destiny of this girl. Like her brother. And her father.. .And her grandfather. Like all Bernadottes.

Zoel opened the prison gate to release their new faction Namer... giving Regina new dark apparel, black and red trimmings dotted on those once beautiful greens. She had a smile of dark pride on her face as she let the Namer unleashed to service of Justice and Conquest.
Hextor would be proud, but she sensed at the last minuate one last defiant expression in Regina. A moment of paranoid concernation rippled on Zoels face, then she dismissed it.
What ever beast she had unleashed, at least she would see the satisfaction of Fargul Bernadotte suffering in ernest.
