A joint Fated-Mercykiller venture, a new wing of the prison block is soon to be added, and dedicated to housing miscreants who refuse to pay their fare share of society's burdens and help fund new initiatives.

"It's about time the indigents, hivers, and rabble pay their fair share. Responsible, law-abiding citizens of Sigil are tired of supporting those that would take advantage of society's largesse without contributing to our bright city's burdens.

Funding for the new wing won't be a problem, although, for now, the Fated are happy to pay the initial costs to begin construction immediately."

- Reginald Von Messentroth, Senior Aide to Duke Darkwood.

"The Guilty Will Be Punished" - unamed Mercykiller source.

Reports of a riot in the Hive were, according to the lady Morganna Von Dram, Taker Representative, " . . greatly exaggerated. "

"We've taken the mob's ringleader and two of his fellow hivers into custody. They'll think twice about interfering with Taker business in the future. " she pronounced.

When questioned as to Taker rights in performing arrests and incarcerating offenders, the Harmonium said, "No Comment."

The three hivers were the subjects of a quick trial outside the Hall of Records, and sentenced to three days prison time, on bread and water, then released into Mercykiller custody to serve out their sentences. It's well known that those placed into Mercykiller prison are also tortured and questioned during their stay, and three days could seem to be as long as three years.

"We pride ourselves on giving offenders a quick trial." the lady added, smiling.

It's come to the attention of this intrepid reporter that Ghuurakk, the bartender of the Bottle & Jugg, has been placed into custody pending charges of non-payment of taxes.

Whether this is a fine levied at the establishment itself, or just the bartender, is unknown until the ownership of the popular hiver watering hole is verified.

A nearby food stall owned by a known Taker sympathizer was looted and burned by an angry mod in retaliation, and the operator severely beaten.
