Kiera reads the request and makes a note on it that she did before sending it up the chain to Factor Charae's office.

A second note is returned to Roza

That is not something I can approve, but I have forwarded it on to the proper channels.  It will be up to administration whether this will be approved or not.  Your initiative is noted, keep up the good work.

( The following series of logs will contain various unpleasant occurrences, including torture. Given that they constitute the everyday shift logs of a Namer Mercy Killer, use your own judgement if you're squeamish. These logs can be considered to be sent directly to Justice Kierisen.)

Shift Log of Namer Rozalina Zarovan
Shift length- 12 hours.

Today was broken up a bit unusually. the first four hours of my shift was spent in the deadlocked cell block. There have been various issues regarding contraband on the block so I made the decision to conduct a shakedown of the unit both in order to eliminate existing contraband and to send a message to the inmates there.
I started by ensuring the unit was properly locked down, and then I went from room to room, one at a time. Following protocol I had each inmate place there hands up to the bars in order to shackle them, then had them stand outside the cell while I conducted my searches. I turned up the following contraband-
17 extra blankets
8 instances of food hoarding
12 extra uniforms
3 containers of home made alcohol. I suspect they've been using bread and sugar. Where they got the sugar I have no idea.
5 "ropes" made from strips of linen- used to assist in transporting items back and forth between cells.

There was a slight snafu while searching the room of Jalex " The Ripper" Jorn. During my search he produced a concealed cell-made knife and attempted to stab me- apparently he was displeased that I confiscated his extra bedding. Inmate Jorn then asphyxiated while I assisted him in consuming the improvised weapon. On the plus side, after adjudicating that particular rules violation the next three cells were extremely eager to reveal their own contraband stores.

After I had an inmate worker clean up inmate Jorn, I fed the block and then escorted them out to the yard for recreation. This went mostly smoothly, although I did have to break up one fight between inmates Dobbs and Slant, apparently over a gambling debt. Upon seperating them, inmate Dobbs threw a punch at me. According to the surgeon Inmate Dobbs' arm should fully recover in roughly six months.

After locking the unit back down, I went for the next six hours of my shift to my normal post in Interrogations. I started my docket with Inmate #67548, a Tiefling male named Kralos Three Horns. Inmate Three-Horns was arrested and convicted on numerous charges of burglary. When I asked him why he had chosen crime over honest work, he had some extremely colorful things to say about my mother. As I had other names on my list I placed him in the Scavengers Daughter and left him in semi darkness while I continued my duties.

The second name on my list, inmate 37489, a Human named Cravus Smithson proved problematic. Upon attempting to discern why exactly he was on my list I noted that he had apparently confessed to a wide range of crimes ranging from public indecency to theft of livestock. Despite his confession to both the Harmonium and the Fraternity I find myself doubting the veracity of some of hisclaims; when was the last time anyone saw a cow in Sigil? I did note numerous patches of scar tissue liberally spread about his body; upon investigating it seems he's a not infrequent guest of our hospitality. I further came to suspect his motives in confessing when during the initial intimidation phase I employ inmate Smithson shouted " Yes, Dark Mistress, cleanse my soul with your loving cruelty". At which time I immediately discontinued corporeal methods as it's against the purpose to give the offender exactly what they're looking for. I recommend further discontinuation of such methods in the case of inmate Smithson; perhaps isolation, terms of solitary imprisonment and similar techniques. I also recommend the use of a doctor who specializes in disorders of the mind.

Returning to inmate Three-Horns after a lengthy time spent washing my hands, I was able to persuade him to provide me with a list of accomplices, as well as several stashes of stolen property. In recognition of his cooperation I administered the customary branding and had him returned to the cells in time for dinner.

I spent the final two hours of my shift covering for a Namer who was out sick on Execution duty.
The following cases were settled-

Loric Mendel, Human; Crime- Murder. method of Execution- Hanging.

Willhelm Stolt, Tiefling, Crime- Murder, Rape. Method of Execution- An extremely large hammer (At inmates request. I don't normally indulge these sorts of things but I was a bit tired as it had been a long day.)

Gravus Skellis, Crime- Kidnapping, Arson, Murder. Method of Execution- The sword.

Jervis Mark, Crime- Murder. Method of Execution- Hanging.

All in all, a busy but productive day. I recommend inmate three-Horns for consideration for vocational training somewhere- it's my opinion that he's a fairly clever individual and potential exists for rehabilitation.

I have caught word of your initiative to start a rehabilitation program. It is the goal of the Mercykillers to ensure the punished think twice before breaking the law again, however some criminals are kept in the prison for an extended period that by the time they are released they have little choice but to break the law again to provide for themselves. I think a preventative measure like this program of yours would work well for future inmates.

As this is starting on your initiative, I will leave the way it is run up to you. Give me results and you may find funding for it in the future.

Regards,

On the matter of Etzy,
I was present in the Bazaar yesterday when the incident occurred. She had been sitting next to the victim, a man apparently known as "Jefe". They were engaged in conversation when "Jefe" made a comment along the lines of "people don't just drop dead in the soddin' streets" when he began choking and frothing and proceeded to drop dead in the sodding bazaar. (Please indulge my unconventional language, but the irony of it still sticks out in the mind).
As I and a crowd of local adventurers stood about the Harmonium arrived with admirable celerity (for a change), and attempted to secure the scene. They were of course met by the usual chorus of jeers from the milling clueless and mad.
I, a man named Aeron, and a Mindflayer with a name I do not possess the vocal structure to repeat, let alone attempt to spell ( It's name started with an "I", and it wore sparkly pinkish violet robes) offered our testimony to the officers on scene. The officers then attempted to detain Etzy, who began backing away claiming her innocence. The Bleaker Kazuko then interjected herself, attempting apparently to convince them of Etzy's innocence by drawing her own blade. I commented on how none of the large squad of Harmonium seemed to react to someone drawing steel around them; Their wizard apparently had the time to label my commentary as "Passive aggressive", which I found vaguely insulting as I see myself as actively aggressive, when the situation merits.
Kazuko, holding a sword in her hand then attempted to claim dominion over Etzy, stating that she's obviously mad and therefor she belongs to the Bleakers, with predictable results from the Harmonium. Around this time Kazuko, stating that the Harmonium aren't the power of the City proceeded to punch one of the Officers while Etzy used witchery to make herself unseen and fled. Kazuko was then swiftly and summarily kicked into a manacled heap. I offered to assist the Harmonium in capturing their absconding fugitive, but was ignored. One of their Movers did ask if I would provide testimony, along with the two others labeled above, and so we three (And kazuko in chains) traveled to the Harmonium barracks. We three recounted what we had seen while Kazuko pretended to be frothing mad off in a cell someplace. After offering to return to give testimony or witness I was thanked and we left.

*The following would be penned in a shaky hand*

I have returned to active duty. I apologize for my absence. I found myself imprisoned in a demiplane and have only recently escaped.
