Before going to the courtyard, he speaks with the clerk again.
"Dalian Sornstar... do you have a rank available and last time he was in before it was just his golem? Was the golem even with him back when he would check in?"

Dalian was active several years ago,Long enough to be forgotten by most of the current day Mercykillers .His records show he was fairly effective in getting the job done when left to himself (Kind of an grumpy old basher) Notes were in his files that he was indeed an artificer who liked shock troop type golems. Always painted in much the same motiff .
His last report was filed about 10 years ago dealing with the pursuit of the Tanarri Blazathor.
About a month later his file was stamped MIA.Six months after that his file was marked MIA/Presumed KIA.
Crossrefrencing the files to Blazathor tell tale of a Nalfeshnee that was active in the time and responsible for wholesale slaughter in the hive,and it spilled into surrounding districts.Some 200 plus
murders or disappearances are tied to this creature.Several units of Harmonium and mercykiller patrols clashed with it,untill it just up and left, apparently back to its home plane in the Abyss.
The last mark on its file is a *terminate on contact* order.

Dace read over the reports, somewhat perplexed.
So far back... why's the tin man showing up now? And why doesn't anybody...
He nodded and thanked the clerk again, letting him know that he would need to borrow the files and intended to discuss the matter with the higher ups. This was a pretty major loose end that had gone unattended...
With that, he went off to the courtyard. Nodding to Brynn, he began to examine the golem ((roles above)), checking with the notes he'd brought along.
If he found no active hexes or wards around the automaton, he'd begin speaking to it.
"What is your name golem, and what are your duties?"

The golem,shows enough self awareness to follow Dace's movements.It ignores Brynn completely.When asked its name,the golem folds itself down carefully,the apparent head slides forward and down, revealing a plate.Dalian's mark is on the plate,along with an archaic rune which could mean Ferrus or iron.Two other runic words are on the plate.one appears to be the command word.The other seems to be a self destruct order.

"Ferrus..has your speech core been damaged, or were you never able to speak? Shake your head if the latter, nod if the former."
He gestures for Brynn to make a copy of the runes shown.
"Again, nod to confirm, shake your head to deny... was Dalian Sornstar your previous master?"

(30 electric damage dc 20 fort save for half,1 foot radius of the golem,ongoing effect,while the hatch is open )
Several Diodes,rods,knobs and switches are stored here,four components are little more than fused slag.The compartment itself appears to be mithril constructed.Two Gauges flicker to life on the outside of the compartment.One has a lightning bolt and it ticks down every sixty seconds the golem is open.Ten ticks are on the bar.The other is a set of four bulbs.Three are dark one is glowing an angry hue of red.
The eyes of the golem go dark when its chest cavity is open.
