The Triad-Bashing SIGIS article is unfortunately not without some truth.

The outpost of Tor's Edge on one of the cubes of Acheron contained a vault where the Mercykillers had hidden a few scrolls of Mnemur. Like the Arcadia Incident, the attackers were reported to be bestial in nature, and had appeared from nowhere. The Mnemur scrolls were stolen.

The following symbol was found drawn in blood on one of the iron walls in the compound:

The investigation is still ongoing.

As soon as the news reaches him, Dace decides to pre-pone that briefing he had planned....

Soon after the news and once the Sarch case had been wrapped up, Dace pens a letter and hands it to Namer Shia to take with her when she ventures to Tors Edge. The letter is addressed the garrison comander.
wrote:
The bearer of this letter comes to you in my stead to investigate the recent attack on the outpost and theft of the scroll cache. As such, afford her the same courtesy and cooperation you would me.

She had packed all of the necessities and much more, never sure what sorts of things she'd come across in unfamiliar territories, and the sound of all the bits and baubles she carried in her backpack lightly clacking and rattling with each step she took. Adorned in the colors of her faction, she joined the sea of scarlet and black that entered through the portal ahead of them, armed with her favored blade and a shield nearly as tall as herself.

(( Of course all this has already happened, as she wouldn't have taken her sweet time following her orders. The delay had OOC reasons. ))

Talea had been assigned as escort for Shia and to do everything to make sure the investigation went as smooth as possible. She knew some about magic but no where near what Shia did. However, she had seen her fair share of slaughters and knew of more mundane things to look at. She had packed light wearing only a small pack and her Mercykiller uniform. Looking at her it appeared she was in fact not armed at all. When herself and Shia would walk she would walk just a half-step in front of Shia and to her right stepping through the portal as Shia did.

The namers were duly greeted upon their arrival at Tor's Edge by a Justice Elias, who asked them what their errand was.

A brief glance over the fortress suggested that whatever damage had been done in the attack was mostly repaired by the time they arrived.

Shia held the letter her commanding officer had given her before having departed out toward the Justice.

"I am Namer Shia, and this is Namer Talea," she gestured to her companion. "We're here to investigate the recent assault on the outpost."

"Of course," the Justice nodded, and led them down the courtyard.

"As the official report indicated, we were attacked in the middle of the night. The attackers appeared in the courtyard there - " he indicated in the direction of a window, overlooking a very bleak courtyard.

"I should say beasts, really; they were barely humanoid. They went straight to the Vault, as though they knew where it was."

"Curious... Are there no wards in place to prevent such magics from functioning in this outpost?" Shia stepped around the Justice to peer through the window and to the courtyard. "Especially considering the sort of valuables it kept. May we be brought to the courtyard now? I would like a closer look at their point of entry."

Talea would keep in step with Shia letting her run the investigation just watching and listening acting very bodyguardish. She did as much as she could to make herself here solely as a bodyguard and not an investigator as she could then be a hidden set of eyes and ears if she needed to be.
