Arrest And Interrogation Of Rannia

It wasn't long after the warrant was issued did Charae appear in the Prison with the captured Rannia in tow. She made her report to Swan's Son and took the bound and unconscious tiefling down into the deep cells.

The dark elf strapped Rannia down to a rack and ensured the girl's sharp tail was covered in a sheath and secured.

Charae dumped a pail of icy water on the tiefling. "Wake up, dear. We have a lot to talk about."

Several days of interrogation appeared to have bore little insight about the invasion. Charae penned her report to Factor Swan's Son.

Factor Swan's Son,

I have finished interrogating the tiefling named Rannia. She has been identified as the individual who has for the past few months drawn symbols throughout Sigil. She appears to be some manner of puppet for the invaders, drawing these runes to allow the creation of portals for the Far Realm to use. The tiefling is incapable of revealing much information about them as the creatures in her mind have hollowed her out and would rip any knowledge from her before she can speak it.

The drawings have been directly linked to the portals we are seeing appear all over Sigil. Most notably is the portal that is within the Gatehouse which they are using as a foothold to grow their forces.

The possessed Bureau Chief Thornbrew has allowed a Harmonium Mover known as Beckett to house a hardhead platoon within the Bleaker Headquarters, taking over the facility and dragging cutters off of the street to be subjected to possession.

It is within the interest of Sigil that this Rannia not be allowed to walk freely unhindered, for she will go back to drawing these runes and compromising Sigil further. Our 48 hours with Rannia are up and the Harmonium now need to be notified of her detainment.

Rannia slumped in the corner of her cell and drooped her head against the wall.

She had screamed and howled until her throat was too hoarse and sore to conjure her voice. Her arms had long since numbed in the tight confines of the straightjacket she'd been forced into - the painful prickling sensation from limited bloodflow was maddening in itself!

The pain and discomfort hadn't stopped her from throwing herself against the bars of her cell over and over like a rabid beast, her covered flesh now stained with dark bruises.

Exhaustion had claimed her. Pain had a way of wearing a body down, she absently mused to herself.

The tiefling curled up as best she could and sobbed. The cacophony still raged upon her mindscape and she could not sate them, could not work their will and quiet her mind. That was the greater torture that they unknowingly brought upon her.

After the forty eight hours have elapsed the cell doors are opened. Two Mercykillers enter.

"Come on, on your feet."

They reach down and pick the tiefling up. Between them they escort Rania out of the prison. For now she is free to roam the cage once again.
