Factor Arwyl
This morning I assisted two Fated Debt collectors in their reclaiming of a debt. We arrived at the debtors place of business a cobblers in the hive to reclaim the sum of fifty jink. Upon our entrance to the premises the proprietor became both agitated and aggressive claiming that he could not pay the amount owed. At which point the two takers attempted to assault him. I was forced to subdue the three of them and execute punishment for their respective crimes. The cobbler received five lashes for breach of the peace and the two debt collectors have currently been place in custody of the Tower of the Wyrm for three days as is the punishment for assault.
I feel I would be neglecting my duties if I did not point out my concerns about our current arrangement. The Fated seem to believe their association with us gives them a carte blanche to ignore the law the two I have mentioned in my report above seemed surprised when I informed them they would face punishment for their crimes just as any other citizen would.
Heironeous blessing
Namer Jentia Snyden.
An unsteady alliance

Another letter arrives, the language less refined, the words rather blunt:

Factor Swan Song,
I am very concerned about our alliance with the Fated. My duty required me to follow some of their collector squads and their understanding of Justice is spotty at best, nonexistant at worst.
I feel we are used as nothing more than the Fated thugs, doing their dirty work, furthering their goals without gaining anything.
Filling the prison at any cost does not serve justice. The debtors have the right to be judged and only if they are found to be guilty we should do what we must.
To serve our goals, to bring Justice and uphold the laws, not to fill anybody's pockets.
Please consider my words as I am concerned about the future of the Mercykillers,
Julius Ahestes, Namer.

A letter is sent to both Jentia and Julius.

Dear Officers,
Thank you for bringing these matters to my attention.
No one is above the law, not us, not any in the Triad, and certainly not the Fated. Enforcing one law is no justification for breaking another. If ever during your duties you come across any activity which shirks the laws or principles upon which the Red Death were founded upon, then it is your sworn duty to uphold the law yourselves and report any offenders to a Harmonium officer. Better yet, travel with Harmonium officers to facilitate enforcement.
The consequences for breaking an alliance will never be nearly as severe as those for breaking the law.
Yours truly,
Arwyl Swan's Son

Julius folds the letter up neatly after reading it, tucking it away into his belt pouch.
He shows a rather pleased smile- a smile that sometimes heralds trouble and pain for some inmate or other law breaking lowlife- when on duty this day, keeping a very close eye on every Taker or associated thug.
