Namer Raena Dias finds a message in her locker, showing Julius Ahestes personal seal.

Shortly after she receives the letter a small pale thin girl, to call her a woman yet would be premature enters Julius office. She skin is dirty and muddy the leathers she wears are torn and her brown hair tumbles uncombed or tamed down her back. Her left hand bares a burn from a brand marking her as a thief suggesting that if she is a mercykiller she is one if the "reformed." She looks more like a hiver than one of the reddeath.

"You sent for me sir?"

She finds Julius sitting at his table, his office small and the furniture designed for utility not comfort or style. He wears his usual, simple street clothes, the only thing giving away his rank and function is the badge pinned onto his chest.

He looks up, not commenting on her appearance, just accepting it and he gestures to the simple wooden chair that is in front of the table.

"Please Sit, Dias. I got you some assignment."

He gives her a small folder then goes on.

"This morning a convict- Horus Ghalen- who was to be transferred from the courts to the prison escaped. One of the two guards tasked with this transfer, a Harmonium Notary named Dhells was killed, the Mercykiller Guard is missing. Her role in this is so far unclear so proceed with some caution."

His eyes are hard as they find hers and he lowers his voice into a growl. "Track that scum down, see that justice finds him. Perhaps you can also find out what happened to that Mercykiller... Namer Alena Choff."

Leaning back again he then asks: "Questions?"

She simply nods in response.

"May I see Ghalen's file please sir? An address or residence would give me a place to start."


She does not sit down not wanting her muddied leathers to ruin the furnishings.

He simply points at the folder he gave her.

"His file is in there as are the abbreviated files of the namer and the notary."

[*Midnight]

"No questions sir."

Presuming she is given leave she returns home to study the file. She lives in a small flat above a smith's workshop in the lower ward. As she enters she is greeted by a large grey wolf. She sits on the floor reading through the notes looking for listed addresses Ghalen's known friends and associates particuarly those who would risk sheltering him. She.also looks into the background if the mercykiller namer cross referencing the.files searching for any link between the two.

Ghalen himself had an apartment in the Clerk's ward whee he lived alone. It seems he worked at a waiter in a Bar close to the Hall of Records.
He had few friends and no living family left but there are rumors about his mother still walking the Mortuary as some kind of undead.
As for friends there is the owner of a bar in the Hive, Jusst Fronn, and a girl he had a short affair with- Nadja Colm- who lives with her husband in the Lady's Ward.

Cross referencing with the namers file reveals that he once executed a punishment on Jusst Fronn for watering down drinks and selling contraband.
It seems that they still had contact with each other afterwards- Alena has been seen in Fronn's bar several times.

Begining with the most direct lead Raena heads towards Ghalen's apartment in the clerks ward.

The house like something you can only find in the cage- someone studying architecture would identify elvish influences in the way the roof was made while the the rest is a mix of dwarfish and gnomish styles.

A short flight of stairs lead up to a round door which opens into the apartments main room, a neighbour, a grizzled goblin with thick grey beard watching the Mercykiller curiously.

Inside Raena finds the typical chaos only a Harmonium search squad can leave. But of course they are also known to miss something sometimes....

She pays little heed to the goblin as she begins rooting through the turned over apartment. At this stage she'd rather be considered a burglar than a mercykiller. She takes her time, hours if that is what it takes.
