During her recent shift, Charae was rarely found in her small office. She spent most of her hours in the Prison doing routine checks, walking down the hallways one by one with three of her Namers alongside her. Occasionally, she drew a slender wand from her belt and tapped it on on her temple to renew a detection spell before continuing her patrol.
Hour after hour, she had her Namers check the cell doors for security while she took notes, writing in drow hand.

On any given hallway Charare would half the time find at least one and sometimes two cells that would create a reading from the divination spell on her wand, occasionally she would detect a presence moving around the prison freely as well, but it may be that some of her fellow mercykillers fitted the criteria she was looking for as well.

Charae would peer through the slat in the prison doors at a multitude of creatures ghouls wights mummies high security cells that hold the odd vampire spectre or lich and a great many creatures she could not quite recognize. At one point she would even be greeted by a ghast in mercykiller uniform that seems to be dragging a chained bariaur to a cell. One of the namers who accompanies her a rogue duodrone keeps a careful track of what creatures are kept in which cells. There are even two cells that set of the divination but appear to be empty. After a day's work she is left with a catalogue of which undead are where in the main body of the prison including the two empty cells that trigger a response. None of them upon first glance appear to be what she is after but appearances can be deceptive and the dead book cells remain uncharted.

The truesight would reveal a woman sitting crosslegged on the bed sh wears torn prison scrubs the many scars across her body and the thick dark rope burn across her neck would suggest she enjoyed the mercykiller's tender care before being hanged. She glares back at Charae as if resenting this intrusion into her privacy. The second one even after the casting of the spell reveals nothing. The spell would still reveal a presence though.

The dark elf eyed the woman for a moment before slamming the window shut. Seeing there was nothing inside the other cell, Charae would make note of the two cells and head to the registration room. From there, she dug up profiles on the woman and whatever - if anything - is supposed to be within the cell that appeared empty. If she found them, she read them over.

As she makes her way to the records room she approaches a desk that would upon first glance would appear unmanned. It is also in a state of utter disarray screwed up piles of paperwork are scattered everywhere. Charare may be slightly shocked when one of those piles of paperwork sneezes at her. And a leathery skinned dark grey imp. It looks out at her with beady red eyes.
"Whe...wh...What!?"
After the creature is calmed it sees to Charae's request and the disheveled mess the archive is in only seems like chaos it rather efficiently finds what she is after.
The woman in the first cell is named Zara Kendt she was executed one hundred and fifty years ago. Although only originally arrested for robbery she murdered her cellmate in an argument over the bunk. After her death her shade returned to the cell and has done its best to make it uninhabitable ever since. Rather than get rid of her some more free thinking prison guards have taken to locking disruptive inmates in there with her as a punishment in itself.
The second empty cell has not been empty for long. Its last occupant was an ogre named Rugrrak who was arrested for his involvement in a drunken brawl though having served his sentence he has recently been released.

Charae later returned to the empty cell with her Namers with the excuse that the cell needed to be cleaned. She had the Namers open the cell and two go inside to sweep it out and inspect it so that it would be ready for its next occupant. Meanwhile, the dark elf used her wand again to see if the presence was still within the cell.
