As Darkstar and Nemesis meet up near the complex, Darkstar is given:

1: (runed for safety) Silver box with an ornate key and 4 button pegs. Also a piece of paper with the four symbols in order.
1: Map of the ancient tunnels (roughly drawn) under the city courts
1: Map of the City courts (detailed) with rough markers of patrol routes (inside) and security divices (roughly described).
1: Untraceable Anarchist emblem.
1: Glass infused cylinder with a quicksilver timer.

* Nemesis nodded at Darkstar and gave four flares*

Just in case...hope you will not require them...Good luck, Darkstar...when in peril...fire one and I'll charge right in...Medical aid is nearby...just as a precaution...it is sad Wasp has vanished...but I have faith in you...

The rogue in black leather nodded, packing away her items carefully into her backpack.

"Wish me luck!" she said with a smile concealed by the hood, and climbed the rope down into the Sewers, heading for the ancient tunnels drawn onto the map, each step careful, silent and aware.

On the way, she warded herself with two spells: Protection from Law against dangerous wards she might stumble into, and Pass Without Trace, to further conceal the fact that she ever was there.

* Darkstar slowly wandered deeper into the tunnels, noticing a couple of odd tiles. The tunnels are dark, damp and there's sheer stench all over. Echoes of quick movements can be heard, as well as the occassional dripping of water on surfaces or in small puddles. Darkstar arrives at a T-split, which is odd...the map did not show one to be at that spot...*

The stench did not seem to bother her much, as she carefully made her way through the stench ridden tunnels, avoiding bodies of water and alike which would give away her presence. Her rapier was always ready in one hand, so whatever lurked within those dank halls wouldn't have the upper hand in a fight, either. (Move Silently: 66, Listen 37, Search 38)

Once she reached the unmentioned split, she at first tried to use her slingshot to check if either of these were an illusion? (Spot: 47) If she still wasn't sure, she'd use the True Seeing abilities of the Sentinel battleaxe she found during her adventures.

* As Darktsar fired her slingshot to her right, a horrible howl was heard, followed by hissing, other than that, it would not appear either direction was an illusion...that howl sounded like trouble though...*

The rogue leaped over to the wall, disappearing into the shadows behind a pillar. She stood silently in place, using her darkvision and keen eyes to know when or where to strike. (Spot 43)

* As Darkstar stood there, the sounds of scraping feet sloshing through puddles or over stone could be heard along with some..motorised sound? Slowly, yet surely, she could see the shapes of four humanoid beings, slowly advancing in her direction. It would appear they had not noticed her -yet- .

Upon closer inspection, once the four beings were close enough, Darkstar could see they were akin to zombies or ghouls...though some parts of these beings were mechanic in nature, small engines running on steam appeared to allow movement of certain arms, legs...even one with a mechanical jaw whom appeared to have a dent in it's face, looking fresh...perhaps the impact of that slingshot?

Whatever these beings were...there certainly had to be sick and twisted mind behind their creation.

The beings were coverd in old bloodstains and their own stench outclassed even the one already present in these tunnels. Slowly, they kept advancing into the other tunnel, clearly seeking the source of that sling-shot bullet *

She would have hurled a really loud thunderstone down the corridor the mechanical monstrosities were headed, to fool them further. Should they have followed this bait, she would have began to march down the same corridor these atrocities arose from, figuring that these guards weren't placed on that side for no reason. *As Darkstar hurled off her thunderstone, the one with mechanical jaw turned around rather drastically and started to trawl towards the direction where the throw might have came from, the other three following suit.

As the mechanical horrors arrived at Darkstar's earlier hiding spot, they grunted and unleashed bone chilling howls. The loud bang causing two of them to continue their earlier path as the other two remained near Darkstar's former hiding spot.

As Darkstar advanced through the tunnel, she arrived at a gruesome sight. Various bodies, all gutted open and clearly had served as meal for the abominations. The stench of decaying bodies clearly present. Darkstar searched the environment and noticed a hole in the ceiling and an odd tile in the wall*

((Terribly sorry for replying this rate, I was on vacation and completely forgot about this thread, Maus.))

The rogue would have first checked for any signs of traps leading to an untimely demise, apart from the obvious hole on the ceiling, (Search 34) and would have carefully tried to press the tile in the wall if she couldn't find any.
