Aleis accompanied the nymph in her investigation of the exhibition areas. When they first stepped into the Festhall the green-haired factotum retrieved a scroll of detect magic and activated it on herself so that she could properly examine the area for unusual traces of magical auras.

On her next visit to the Civic Festhall, Maharaja would learn of this happening. Having spent most of her time in her own domain the news of the heist would alarm her, but when she notices others already on the case, she would express her shared concern for the safety of the society and offer a half hearted offer of assistance.

All Sasha really heard was that there had been a theft. Somehow the what and where and how didn't make it into the conversation, but her initial reaction was very miffed.

"Again?! I've ONLY written half a dozen proposals about this. . . "

She resolved to start banging down doors again about the terrible security measures. It was just embarrasing. In the meantime, she went in search of someone who actually knew what specifically had happened.

A drifting shadow, a scent easily traced back to some kind of canine. A single feather is delivered. Nothing uncommon, maybe pigeon? Dipped in blue paint, though. A single word echoes to a nearby sensate before the shadow isn't.
Huunt...

The investigating Sensates are met by a Factotum Haris, a middle aged halfling with a thick moustache. He is obviusly annoyed about what happened- even moreso at the interferance of outsiders. A delegation from the plane of Air has arrived to do they own investigations and of course the halfling fears that their meddling will make his work more difficult.

So he is pleasantly surprised that a few factioneers are willing to help him out and shares what he found out so far:

-It seems that all wards were intact when the thefts happened but the Alarm spells did not go off.

-There were plenty of visitors in the Festhall already as the exhibition was about to start so the thief might have been hiding among them.

-A woman, some Namer Filicia, saw the Star of the Abyss vanish right in front of her eyes!

-When a guard checked on the Sceptre of Nush the artifact faded away after he touched it. The man reported that 'something did not feel right' to his touch just before the artifact vanished.

-The Salamander Eluros who was in charge of the event has been demoted to namer and is now serving drinks to visitors.

-The items lost are:

The Star of the Abyss, a Rogue Stone, large and of excellent quality, an heirloom to a powerful Djinn clan.

The Earrings of Nashara, beautiful white and black pearls, set into silver. They are part of the Padisha's own collection- returning them is of greatest importance.

The Yellow Amulet, a Canary Diamond set in gold, some say it carries an enchantment that grants mastery over the element Earth.

The Sceptre of Nush, an artifact from the plane of fire, a rod of grey, cold forged iton, topped by a Fire Opal which is enchanted to shine with everburning flames.

There are rumours that all four are more than shiney baubles and can be used for... something else.

- A blue feather has been found in the exhibition room and some say it is a calling card, left behind by a planar master thief calling him(or her)self 'Bluejay'. Stories about that enigmatic person are quickly getting more popular in the Festhall so the thieve's background should be easy to investigate.

Spike jr notices many scents- after all the Festhall is a busy place and many visitots left their mark there. Perfumes, drugs, the scents of many different races and creatures. Yet if she could talk to her wolf she might hear that the blue feather that has been left behind is..unusual.

Aleis finds and rcognizes several magical auras- there are wards, there are illusions.. but there are also traces of something else.

She finds both the remains conjuration and illusion magic in the now empty showcases, as well as older divination magic.

Whoever used this spells was an able caster but also good at veiling what he or she did.

Later that day two Sensates have been heard discussing a poem printed in SIGIS:
wrote: "I line my nest with feathers of blue
And pretty Sensate pearls
Worry not I'll sell some pearls to you.
Find me where the smog flies and whirls.

Come at antipeak or the chance will pass
Come find me in the house of glass."
They speculate about its meaning and get into a heated discussion over it.

Maharaja overhears the two Sensates arguing over its meaning, smacking them with the blunt of one of her many staves to get their attention. "The meaning is glaringly obvious" she says. "This is the thief, or someone pretending to be the thief although unlikely, gloating their deed at us for attention, just as i told Aleis they would do." She proceeds to decypher it's meaning to the two sensates. "The smog that flies and swirls is the lower ward, and the next line refers to the greenhouse." As for the date and actually going there, the Rakshasa trusts the sensates they can find a group willing to risk their necks in retrieving the jewels before the thief pawns them off and they are never seen again.

A young fey has been living in the greenhouse, for some reason she hasn't left for the last week. Unsurprisingly she doesn't know about the theft and only knows of an auction taking place when Deliang visited her and showed her a copy of the SIGIS. Not unusual for her demeanor she was surprised and thought perhaps somebody was trying to auction her off.

In the meantime she has been chitter chatting about it all as she helps her friends, the dryad, and the brownie, and the nymph, and the bard, and the baker, but she avoids the lecherous satyr. Should anyone venture to the greenhouse they would certainly bump into her and she would probably say "hi!" =)
