There is a flood of sensations. New sources of energy, to feed from. Hunger, once more. You are startled, but curious. The eyes are upon you. So many eyes. You peer inside and see many things. The air swirls with hasty, impatient energy. There are powerful, rushing currents that feel they cannot be held back. Some rush away from you, in a hurry to flee. Others, however, they rush towards you. Towards everything, uncaring and scalding. It is tempting to go along. To burn with the wind, searing everything on your path. To become a tempest.
A voice catches your attention. You cannot quite tell where it is coming from. It is near. You turn. That is.. new. You have never turned before. While looking for the source of the voice, you become gradually more interested in your surroundings. It is nourishing, drawing you closer to the jolt that pushed you.
You pause.
The currents are more than the initial rush would have suggested. Weariness sets upon you. It is not the same as your earlier complacency, however. There are other things swirling around you, other sources of nourishment. You start to pick them apart, one by one. You feel a surge of excitement once more. Gradually, you are becoming more aware of people around you. Once more, you are reminded that this is new knowledge. Something you did not quite have when the events transpired. A flash of a priest in prayer. Somewhere, the current is stable. In harmony.
A jolt. Directed at one of the people. This is your doing. You recall the weariness once more. But with that jolt comes a shrill current. It seeks to escape, carving and erratic path away from you. With that current, you feel full and energized. What else can you do? You have options. Some of them easy to decipher. More of the same? Searching for something new. Other options, however, seem very alien and difficult to comprehend. It is like trying to think inside out and backwards, if you had to put it to words. You realize that these are no longer thoughts of the spirit. They are yours. The stone's magic has ended.
// The sensory stone's magic seems to have worked. It also appears stable, although it would take a truly alien being to make sense of the last bits included in the stone. You and anyone you show the stone to can make use of it.
I'll assume you visited the temple together to present the stone to the spirit. There was floating! And flashy lights. Potentially. Mostly flashy lights. And floating. The spirit has withdrawn for now. It seems more solid than the last time Quinn saw it.
