Factor Donald Wheatley's apartment in the Hive Ward has burned down. He was an affluent wizard who decided to buy real estate where it was cheap. The house was fairly large before it was consumed by the flames. The Factor and his staff were found dead. Not all of them could be recognized.

Faction records suggest that a sensitive sensory stone, which was in Factor Wheatley's possession when the fire happened, has gone missing. Initial reports do not have much to offer regarding what happened.

The sensory stone was titled 'Revelations'.

When Trissa learns of the fire, she drags Aleis along to investigate the remains of the building for any clues. she also asks the other members if anyone has details upon the stone that might aid a scrying

Aquilla seems very curious about the missing stone, he checks the archives for any information about the stone itself and then he checks the archives for any Sensory Stones made by the same author as the missing stone.

After hearing of the fire and the loss of Factor Wheatley's demise Aleis was enthusiastic about investigating, although Trissa may have actually dragged her anyways. Once there Aleis had offered to assist anyone who was injured by the event with either mundane or magical healing and only asked for information about the event in return for her assistance.

Trissa and Aleis: You manage to patch up some burn wounds the local firefighters (aka ragged volunteers who live nearby) suffered. You gather enough goodwill to learn that the fire started very suddenly. Your divining-focused approach suggests that there has been a fair amount of magic on site, but you do not actually learn anything more about the sensory stone (beyond what was said in the faction report and that it is a sensory stone). For the following few days, Sensates are 5% less likely to get a chiv between their ribs in the Hive. Every bit helps!

If you check the records, you will run into the same trouble as Aquilla (see below).

Aquilla: The records you are given suggest that the stone was made by Mebriel Nakamura. She has contributed three other stones. The four recordings are off-limits to Namers. That seems to be true for more extensive information regarding the author as well.

You can do a little research on the woman who contributed the sensations, however. It appears that she was a half-elf warlock who has been dead for a hundred years, if not a little more. She had a few close brushes with Sensates - a partner, even - but she never progressed beyond the rank of a Namer herself. Something else seems to have occupied her time. The woman Nakamura was associated with is still alive: Factotum Torviir has moved on with her life. The dark elf is visiting the 570 layer of the Abyss, Shendilavri. It appears she left only a tenday ago.

The nymph would turn to her friend "Know any spells that might be able to track the magic? or its source?. i could use some divination magic but it does not work well inside sigil"

The paladin knew it would be very unlikely that anyone in the hive would give her additional information, still she offers two thousand gold to anyone with information that will lead to the stones return or those who started the fire and ten thousand to anyone who returns the missing stone. She also make's it clear anyone breaking the laws of sigil for the search would forfeit the gold

Sasha's first reaction on hearing the rumors was to exclaim about how this was why they needed to do something about security. Immediately. Meeting and memos were required. She made a mental note to talk to Quinn about it again the next time she saw him. Hopefully this time they'd be able to recover the sensory stone. . .

She then went about researching the stone, its contents, and why Factor Wheatley was keeping it outside of the Festhall.

Harmonium ends the investigation stating that the fire may have been accidental. The only bodies in the building belonged to Factor Wheatley and his staff. The only injured people were the Hivers who put the fire out.

Of course, that does not explain the missing sensory stone.

Some squatters have already claimed the spot and are building a temporary shelter on the ruins of Factor Wheatley's house.

Sasha received the stone 'Revelations' from Aquilla, and promptly took it inside the Festhall. She saw to it that it was securely placed in the deepest private sensorium vault.

She then wrote to the Factol to tell her that the stone had been recovered due to the actions of the namers Aquilla, Melissa, and prospective recruit Peruppi - none of whom wished to speak about the matter further.

Factotum Torviir wrote:Accidental! Can you believe this? This was no accident, so don't try to tell me otherwise. Someone put Donald in the dead book and I intend to find out who. Mebriel's memories are too important to fall in the wrong hands.
Factol Montgomery wrote:Since Namer Nakamura's sensory stones have been revealed and targeted, I have made a decision to collect them all in the Private Sensorium. I also need a volunteer: someone has to orient new Namers in Factotum Torviir's stead. She will be rather busy by the looks of it!

Namers Aquilla and Melissa are to be commended for their efforts. This event should be viewed in favor of Peruppi, as well. I like the initiative.

2) 'Eyes in the Sky'
Notes: This sensory stone has made everyone who viewed it very uncomfortable. Viewer discretion is advised. Factotum Grout has never been the same after having been granted a permission to access the recording. Former Keeper: Factotum Grout.

3) 'The Voice of a Star'
Notes: We have sent several factioneers to the Gatehouse. This sensory stone is considered extremely dangerous. ((A fair chance of permanent mental damage.)) Former Keeper: Factor Luganskaya.

4) 'Transaction'
Notes: Accessing this stone requires an explicit permission from the Factol. ((A real possibility of permanent character death or severe mental consequences.)) Former Keeper: Factol Montgomery.
