Having recently joined the Ciphers as a somewhat unusual new member, Starlight seemed to stand out a little on account of being a non-organic creature in a Faction that happens to be quite full of them. Having signed up for most classes, the Golem found herself trying all sorts of activities that she typically didn't indulge to. Classes such as acrobatics, dancing, martial arts, physical practice and so on. Being what she was, it was naturally hard for her to physically improve from the more physical practices. Not like she can grow extra muscles or anything, but nonetheless the little Golem seemed to perform as well as anyone else when it came to channeling her instincts. A strange sight, but for a golem she seemed vastly more in tune with the notion of action-without-thought than otherwise, having been built with a natural affinity for her own internal instincts. Sometimes she was more like an animal in that regard, having an odd habit for doing things that made her resemble a canine or feline. Sniffing the air, balancing herself on difficult spots, running and bouncing around, she was certainly a very lively being.

Some classes seemed to have her performing better, especially where insight was concerned. Combat arts, classes involving motions, equilibrium and intense efforts were taken with uncanny skill, and the recent tournament promoted by Master of the Heart Abwan seemed to speak well of her talents. Witnessed by both the recently-promoted Master as well as Master of the Mind Laurence, the golem was able to face virtually all challenges thrown at her, from massive Allosaurs to Red dragons, and lastly an entire squadron of Champions from Clangor. The overly-enthusiastic runt seemed eager to challenge Laurence and likely get her ass beaten, but that never quite happened. On the other hand she seemed to struggle at times with recent classes that required her to be more patient. Meditation seemed to be one thing in particular that she struggled with, as so far she seemed to mostly understand that it consisted of sitting there and deactivating herself until the end of it.

There is some potential there that could use maturing, so a more ambitious master might be able to see what they can do with the metallic midget.

There are many paths to the self-induced enlightenment that is ‘Perfection’, though despite their frequency rarely does one path resemble another, and because of it neither may the Gymnasium or it’s inhabitants adhere to one strict order. To some, peace of mind is found in the tempering heat of battle, where again and again they subject themselves to the crucible that is the arena, every time returning from it a little closer to understanding. To others, however, perfection is in the colors of an easel, the delight of song, or the inherent mysteries of reality plumbed through the visage of philosophical debate. The Transcendent Order views no one path above another but tailors education to the individual, so if one road does not prove fruitful, then perhaps there is another?

Recent to his title, Master Valorstride was still fitting into the new shoes he wore. After all, when you’re naught but a Cipher, your duties are only twofold: The maintenance of the Gymnasium and the pursuit of your own perfection. Now as a rank beyond, he had those prior obligations as well as the newest duty of overseeing those beneath him, helping the new and fresh faces of the Order to find just where they had fit in, and chief among those within his purview was none other than Starlight herself. There was no denying the bias, really. He was the one to tell her about the Order, to summarize it’s beliefs when she proved curious, and ultimately was the one that helped process her initiation, not to mention the months of fostered friendship they kept prior to all of this. He kept close eye on her lessons and took a vested interest in her progress, especially in where it hitched.

As he paced down the marbled halls in the midst of Sigil’s peak hour he mused over the nature of meditation. Personally he preferred the classical methods and the solitude they brought- the space and silence needed in order to organize and order both mind and emotion, but he had to recognize that it wasn’t without its pitfalls. After all, he had fallen asleep beneath his own handful of palm trees on the beaches of Elysium, citing his naps as ‘Meditation’ to his masters before him. A set of heavy, oaken doors push open before him into one of the Gymnasium’s grand playgrounds, of which no small population of Ciphers and commonfolk alike had taken to practice their flexibility and agility. Among them a single, metallic, and familiar construct hung from a suspended hoop, swinging back and forth, back and forth as to garner momentum before taking the grand bound to a hoop adjacent. After a momentary pride he parted from the view and looked to the short order of personal equipment she had kept stowed into a line of cubby shelves that occupied the near wall. He left the page that had otherwise occupied his hands atop of Starlight’s effects, then left to resume his own business.

“SWORD DANCING CLASS!” It boasts in spanning, block letters just above the image of a conventionally attractive trio of men and women dressed in a light, silken garb, each swaying in motion with a blade of their own choice. “Come and join for three sessions a week, one hour a piece, and learn how to put body and soul in motion like you’ve never felt before! Free to all members of the Grand Gymnasium. We gather in the Main Hall on Lady, Market, and Guild of every week at two hours past Peak. Join us then, or contact Master of the Mind Fo’lan with questions.”

At the end of the day Abwan could not simply order Starlight’s attendance since it would be contrary to the very foundations of Cipher belief, but… Sometimes the Will of the Multiverse can be enforced. Still, it would be Starlight’s decision, and hers alone, if she would follow the suggestion.

Following the suggestions left by Master Valorstride, Namer Starlight seems to have been pursuing them with considerable vigor. While not one to use blades (other than the one attached to the end of her tail), the classes have helped her with acquiring a sense of balance and grace to her typical combat motions. The suggestion seems to have spurred her into further pursuits as well, and in the recent month she has been seen regularly practicing with the many martial artists who are part of the faction. Her typical style of fighting with punches, claws, kicks and tail strikes seems to have received further refining, with considerable focus having been given to her footwork and overall sense of mobility. What previously was regarded as a feral, brutal pouncing way of fighting now seems to more closely resemble a fine, sharp form of animalistic martial arts, combining elements of the Golem's former way of fighting with those discovered during her training with other fighters. Most who seem to have trained with her seem to note that for a Golem, she has a remarkable ability to tune in with the Cadence, and a natural inclination to keep thinking to a minimum while heavily relying on her instinctive ability to move and fight.
