Abbreviated History
Born in Eltabbar to a pair of ambitious wizard researcher ladder climbers. A marriage made more out of mutual ambition then romantic feelings, though they were present. Her mother, Jalantia home schooled Revie until the age of 10. Teaching her theory, history, and the practical applications of magic. Kriel and Jaantia became concerned about Revie's progress in the magical arts after an argument, they contracted their own old master. The eccentric, but charming, well regarded and often contriversial Master Da'ahl. Among the concerns about him were romantic rendevous with former students of the non-female variety. The other glaring concern was his obsession with magic involving manipulation of souls. Even in Thay, while accepted, many still felt it taboo. What drove Master Da'ahl was an extraordinary fear of his own mortality. Two years go by and Revie is joined by another apprentice, the buxom, flirtatious, licentious, uniquely self-absorbed Ambira. Despite their differences in personality, they have many common interests and an amicable sibling rivalry is formed. Two more years pass and Master Da'ahl's health begins to rapidly deteriorate
Revie being the more reliable of the two, he asks her to catch the interest of a young man, Belistor, and lure him into their laboratory. Revie is torn at first reluctant before changing her mind and agreeing to do this for her master. And she does. She flirst, says suggestive things, compliments his masculine features implying there is more to come. Watching, all this time is Ambira. Belistor one of her many lovers, promised her he'd be true to her. As they enter the lab, Ambria goes into a fit of rage, casting acid arrow into the mans eyes standing over him seething as lies screaming. Helpless to stop the acid from entering his brain and he dies in moments. >>>>for brevity>>>> Words are exchanged for minutes, Da'ahl cries out in the corner, clutching his chest. The two apprentices stare at each other when da'ahl tells her "I need you revie, bring me ambria" Ambria begins to utter arcane words, ones Revie knows well, staff in hand she activates it, putting ambria into a deep slumber. Trembling, she slowly continues the ritual absorbing Master Da'ahl's soul into the soulgem.
Exhausted emotionally, she breaks out in tears, staring down at her, unable to do as her master commanded. Ambria's eyes open wide in terrior, her head jolts until she see's her 'sisters' face. Ambria breathes heavily through her teeth, her face controrted with anger, she chants again. This time Revie does nothing, a dark ray shooting from her hand into Revie who screams in pain. A focus, clarity comes over her, Ambria IS going to kill her. Revie clutches the gem tightly in her hand as Abria attempts to cast the same spell agian, her words unclear and her arms unprecise. Revie recognizes the spell and abrieved counterspell, but the spell does not just fizzle. A magical surge channels along the path, most of it deflecting back into Ambria who screams and falls cold. Revie stumbles backwards, gem in hand confused, she completes the ritual believing Ambria to still be among the living and passes out. >>for the sake of brevity here << She wakes up finding another voice is in her head, emotions overwhelming the both of them, they can agree on one thing. Burn the laboratory and the bodies and flee.
<<Much emitted for brevity>>
<<many years later in REvie's journal>>
My head swims the with past few days, I was dead and now I don't even recognize who I am. I cannot believe what I see. My Master always told me he believed this was my fate, but I'd always thought he just being kind to make a human feel more at ease living among them in elven lands. His words I've heard many times echo, I cannot shake them. Those who defend and sacrifice for the Tel-quessir are not forgotten and rewarded by Corellion. I've hardly time to catch my breath. Kelben just does not take no for an answer. I tried to reason with him, can barely cast a freakin cantrip in this new body and my spellbook , MY spellbook. Gone. If he can't find him, how in the blazing saddles am I suppose to? He tells me I have a knack of solving things no one else does. What a bleedin crock. Kelben must have reason to believe that Da'ahl wishes to see me again and soon. That has got to be what he is hoping. In any regards, I'm sure it's a matter of life and death . Realms at stake, kittens being overrun by dogs and man eating rabbits. And even if I tried to refuse, he'd just bloody badger me until I did it anyway. Probably call and have Elminster have a chat with me or something. Then I'd have to endure the scoldings about how important this matter is and how disappointed they are in me.
*she tosses her pen aside slamming the book closed realizing her room has not been warded believing that Kelben likely has someone watching her or worse yet, someone else unknown, gathers what few things she has unfurrowing a scroll mouthing "gate key" with a long sigh .
