Your field boys and girls who enjoy spending time in OOC room! As I noted in my original post, I'm fairly indifferent. I'm just trying to mediate since I heard discord had quite the argument going on.

None of this has been aimed at you, O... just the general thread. Typing at work (now at home) so don't have to do so quickly.
So, for the rest of you folks, gimme some alternatives, give me some middle ground. I'll take what you come up with back to the team to discuss. Just be realistic in your suggestions. Massive coding and area building likely won't fly.

Lots of people don't use the Forums, so How about ....Advertising it in the OOC room? along with Discord too. 100% Spell Failure, that is also a good deterrent, a single line of code can apply that effect, the whole too scared to log in cause of meta gamers? I don't think that's a Problem to be honest. I have a Freaking Huge Red Dragon that people have seen OOCLY, cause of crashes and what not, so the good players don't mind it and the bad ones that call out on it Are Deterred by the community right away. Every one that knows my Dragon's a Dragon is because they've found out Through Rp, not the OOC room, Not crashes either, and the surprise they find themselves into is quite cool actually. My Two cents.Darkrob,Feb 27 2017 wrote: None of this has been aimed at you, O... just the general thread. Typing at work (now at home) so don't have to do so quickly.

I'm fairly indifferent on it, myself. Passively against it, but only because I've yet to really believe it necessary... or at least not actually addressing the presented issues in an effectual manner.
That said, I just wanna say that "give us alternatives, but we're not coding or building anything for you guys" might not be the best presentation or attitude.

Just chiming in, I agree 100% with the OP of the thread.
Also, as a new player I do not find it off putting to see people in the ooc room when I first joined the server. On the contrary if they were not there to help me out I don't know what I would have done.
This rule seems to try and protect maybe some friend of the DM's who is mad about some people seeing their character's true form? Then using some fake news blanket statement of server lag as the real reason?

I can't code and I can't build but I'm willing to carry the message back to the team. It's pretty simple actually... if I can't do it, I can't sell it. I'm looking for easy to implement solutions. Telling me that I have a poor attitude for doing that isn't that good either.CheeseWedge,Feb 27 2017 wrote: I'm fairly indifferent on it, myself. Arguing against the rule isn't going to make it go away. It was put in place because people thought it should be. Erasing that decision with 'I object' isn't the way to do it. Hence why I said 'let's find middle ground'. Something that will make those who want the status quo happy but also thosw wanting the restrictions.ewe,Feb 27 2017 wrote: Just chiming in, I agree 100% with the OP of the thread.

I was more trying to imply that the words present a poor attitude or tone. An easier solution is obviously preferable, but the way it was worded suggests taking tools for solutions out of the hands of the people wanting to create a solution. No offense was intended.Darkrob,Feb 27 2017 wrote:I can't code and I can't build but I'm willing to carry the message back to the team.
