A lot of Morthos' RP has generally come from him being outgoing. Now, whether that means he's a total dick to someone who worships a god/goddess (since he's an Athar; also don't do this too often, LOL). Or whether that means he sits in the Khazeet's and just chats. I just have Morthos talk to people, when I want to. It also helps to be active on the forums. Even if not everyone sees you IG, if you're seen doing things on the forums IC, then people get to know you.
"Opening magic/enchanting shop. Discounts." or whatever. If your character is an enchanter crafter (I happen to know one yours is ;) ), then make it obvious. Put up flyers (a la this, except related to what your character is doing) for your business or whatever. Approach other characters. Have discussions, especially about what other characters believe. Let's be honest: everyone likes to talk about their characters. Engage in events, when you can.

Based on my experience, what defines whether your character gets popular enough to get spotaneously contacted or not, is largely answered with a simple question: why should they? I know it sounds harsh, but really when you are playing an "unknown character", the key factor in that is that nobody knows you, so they don't really have a huge reason to get in touch with you. That needs a little more proactive touch to get yourself wedged in to others affairs.
- Offering services is a great way to get people in. Though in my experiences niche services tend to get somewhat low customer base. So if you find your services not pulling an audience, either tool the way you are offering them, or the what you are offering to them. Mind you, when I say services, I don't mean just magic equipment... it can be something like private investigator, or professional member of a faction providing services they already do, or make niche RP items such as specialized trophies by request.
- People abhor boredom and are easily swayed by goal orientated RP. Make up random nonsense, you're looking to learn about beholder biology for academic reasons, possibly necromantic applications for knowing their skeletal structure and theoretics of eye decay ratio to preserve their potential for eye beams. Or you're looking for Genaivol Mushrooms (totally made up mushroom) which only grow at plane-X and give them a craft alchemy check or something about potential practical applications such could be used.
- The hardest one is to just be spontaneously fun to have around. Witty trickster that isn't too annoying, gets involved, cracks jokes, but doesn't make scenes end into meaningless bloodshed by being too troublesome. It doesn't even need to always be fully xaositect level of trickster-y. Or strange things just tend to happen to a perfectly ordinary character, practically play a magnet for trouble say... they have been cursed by wildmagic. Mental cases are also classic, be it multiple personalities, hallucinations, delusion of grandeur.
- One special case: play a victim character and invite all the problems to you, and more or less accept them without real mechanical struggle. The point isn't your character suffering, well it's a bit of the point, but the actual point is that people love helping or fixing people. So they're going to try their darndest to get them helped if you play their victim part correctly. These kind of characters aren't super longlasting, but this is a decent way to get strong history to a character, or just treat them as a one off throw away character.

four good points with detailed explanations all taken in to consideration. Thanks :)Mr_Otyugh,Aug 29 2016 wrote: Based on my experience, what defines whether your character gets popular enough to get spotaneously contacted or not, is largely answered with a simple question: why should they? And yeah your right about the placing my character into others businesses as that's how i meet some of the EXTREMELY small list of others I frequently RP with nowadays. but thanks agin for the other bits of advice,. Its kind of hard at times trowing my pc out there not knowing how to (until know :P ) as I'm a rather withdrawn person irl. Hopefully I can fix that problem now haha.

Also of topic a bit... if anyone that i taged alosng is reading this that I headed to the bonfire pit area by Khaz's Bar. if I leave abruptly in any way or stray from it in the future. Its due to my Analytical self reading and taking in all that being said.. oh and let snot forget the lovlly sideafect of me acting 100% out there to distract myself from the overload.
So if I stay away from the masses next time its for a good reason haha
