Preparing to depart for Arcadia Hograth sends out a few messages to the notaries he works with- inviting Eversong, Ta'Kan and Whistle to join him in his investigations. He will also look for other brave troopers who are ready for this probably very dangerous task.

Of course he will not hide the fact that he will cooperate with other factions in this case- as a threat like this indeed is a danger to Sigil and Sigil's people as a whole.

It didn't take long for Ny'leve to heed Hograth's call, entering the half-orc's office with her usual, almost casual smile that optimists seem to hold.

"Heard you were hunting 'nightmares', Measure. Anything that Ilmater's 'mercy' can aid?"

"Hah!" The halforc bellows a laugh and gets up to pour his visitor a cup of tea as well, gesturing to the other chair in his sparse office.

He sits down on the corner of his table (the poor thing creaking under the man's weight dangerously), a little informality, something he does not allow himself often.

"I hope so. It will not be easy."

Sipping from his tea he waits a bit to collect his thoughts before going on.

"We are not well rquipped to deal with this danger. We are a powerful fighting force, but we are trained to engage what we can see, what we can fight- superbatural or mundane, but still part of our world.

This time it is different. The seed of danger can grow in everyone of us, your skills will be most useful.

I sent letters to other factions as well, a Sensate already answered my call. I hope that their own expertise and knowledge can supplement our own in this matter."

The party eventually heads to the outpost in Arcadia, which is now being rebuilt under the watchful care of one Measure Baldric.

The corpses have long ago been cleared away, and the vault is being repaired (though the Measure expresses doubts that they can safely keep scrolls here again).

After collecting the evidence and putting the pieces together, the investigators found out the following about the incident:

- Several days before the town was wiped out, one of the researchers (by the name of Allan) began complaining of nightmares about large ursine creatures. It is suspected that he was delving too deeply into his research with the scrolls, and ignoring the proscribed regulations.

- Allan consulted his fellow scholars on the matter, but they saw no reason to raise an alarm at the time.

- The creatures, when they came, seemingly appeared in the south of town, and methodically went through slaughtering everyone. Then they tore open the vault, and vanished. There are no footprints leading in or out of town.

- The creatures were corporeal; a few were slain, and left behind corpses.

- Allan was killed at the north of town. He was found huddle up at the foot of a shrine to Harmony.

The Halforc greets the Measure respectfully and after some smalltalk and bonding he will start his investigations.

Hograth goes through this evidence slowly, methodically- and there is something he finds odd.

He will try to find out if Allan has ran to that place, fleeing from that creatures or of he looked for sanctuary there when the attack started or even before.

After all this man might have known what will happen, might have felt the doom that was about to descent on them...

He asks Ny'leve to examine the corpses of those berlike creatures, to make an autopsy on them and also inspect the corpses of the slain- just to make sure those creatures are really what is responsible for this deaths- especially Allan's.

The aasimar politely attended all official meetings with Hograth, her mood visually a bit tainted by the nature of what has happened in the area.

She none the less heeded the order, and requested permission to examine the deceased through the appropiate means to do so.
