Most are neutral.
Tons are evil.
I mean, the entire Winter Court is a bunch of evil bastards.

Lies!
Okay, yeah, like 95% of them. The other 5% are either super old and hold to old ways, or just don't care :P

This has to do with when Fey get hit with the racial PrC stick. Verdant prince was discussed as an option because there are no male nymphs.

You can find them in Monster Manual 4, but please ignore the absolutely BS 4 level adjustment for class leveled versions. They're dramatically higher LA than that based on the LA breakdown.
If they get used, they'll be toned down anyway, so it won't matter much :P

As for books on Fey, I know it's a bit taboo to bring in other systems, but given the terrible lack of Fey details, there is one book you can refer to.
*This book is ONLY to be used as kind of a setting and racial attitude, court politics and mentalities, daily lives type thing. The nitty gritty details and mechanics DO NOT mesh at all.

Changeling: Dark Ages, White Wolf Publishing. AKA - World of Darkness

Another good set of books is the Ravenloft ones, as they expand much more fully on a lot of it.

I also hear that there are 2nd ed books that give a much keener peek into Seelie and Unseelie.

The important things are this: Seelie and Unseelie do not have to be good and evil. It's more complicated than that. Good Fey hate Fiends. Evil Fey usually hate Fiends. All of my research into 3.5 books hint that Eladrin are the common ground of Elven Celestials and Fey ascended. It's noted that the oldest of the Eladrin race are Fey.

Other than that, think druid, nature. The balance, the purpose of existing, the aspects of nature. It all falls in line really really well (since it's rumored that druids learned it from them in the first place, even if human druids surpassed them in the end)

Everyone hates fiends. Even Tana'ri and Baatezu hate other fiends.

http://docslide.us/documents/planescape ... round.html

That books got info about all the Gods / Pantheons / Powers in the Planescapey universe,

NOTE, since you're asking about Fey, check Titania's entry under 'Other Monstrous Powers' (alongside the Ilsensine and Bahamut to name a few :P )

+4 LA actually seems to fit the entry of Verdant Prince, if you assume no druid casting they get only 3* 1/day spells, at will dimension door, it seems only track is a racial feat, they get unearthly grace as nymph, 10/cold iron, do I see evasion? and they get double damage cold iron vulnerability. +3 natural armor, 5+level spell resistance, +6 str, +16 dex, +8 con, +6 int, +4 wis, + 10 cha, and no apparently skill bonuses, 40ft speed (10 more than nwn2 standard).

Compare to pixie without irresistible dance which is also +4 LA: 10 * 1/day spells, permanent invisibility at will, special arrows with onhit sleep or memory loss, 15 + level spell resistance (high sr!), 10/cold iron dr, dodge and weapon finesse are racial feats, +1 natural armor, +2 to skills listen, search, spot, and -4 str, +8 dex, +6 int, +4 wis, +6 cha, and up to 60ft speed with slight (double NWN2 standard speed)

Both are LA +4, the difference is the pixie has more spells, lower abilities, and high sr, the verdant prince has cold iron vulnerability, higher abilities, lower sr, fewer spells and divine grace.

For Nymph most of their +7 LA is loaded on all the free spells they get regardless of life style choices, and the use of 2 powerful at will effects, they also get free wild empathy, and a huge bonus to swimming. They get no sr nor natural armor, only divine grace. If you took that all away except divine grace you'd make them the lower end of +4 LA.

Same for pixie, if you took away all their spells, perma invis, and arrows, they'd be only +3 LA not +4 LA.

If you look at it that way it all adds up, of course Sigil does it differently, but you can' really count spells into LA if you make them take class levels just to get the spells like a regular class

As for fey deities, you'll find most of the fey deities aren't actually deities at all, they're just arch fey, which is powerful and old fey. The same way the Court of Stars is filled with powerful celestials rather than deities.

Druid in 2e was solely for humans, it opened up in 3.5 but the ideas are still the same. It's grounded in religious practices and old rituals that try to commune with the natural or the supernatural world. Imagine it as a winding path to a source of power. For fey it's different, unless they have forgotten themselves, they are already at the font of power as supernatural creatures, almost all of them get lots of free spell likes or spells, and other powers. For example a nymph always attracts animals and is able to calm them and heal them without needing to train.

For roles I imagine verdant prince to be much stronger, high str/con, natural armor and spell resistance, evasion, and a shape changing battle staff. Where as pixie, dryad, and nymph are all much physically weaker filling more of a supportive or caster role. Notice fey is a low base attack class with lowish hit points. They have lowest hp of all monster types, and lowest base attack bonus, except undead which is also on wizard progression but instead they have d12 hitpoints.

Well where the conversation went was "how do we implement fey without making it female sexpots only?" Satyr would be a wonderful choice, except we don't have a model, which left Verdant Prince as the only viable human-sized male fey, probably via a 1st-level choice of nymph/dryad/verdant prince that would determine the overall progression.

That might be tricky if you try to place them all on one race/class. Dryads look distinctly more feral and wild with leaves and wood grain skin, verdant prince also looks different. Nymph looks the most idyllic human/elf like.

Power scale is different too, sans the spell-likes and druid spells then you have ... verdant prince > nymph > > dryad.

Maybe if they're limited to the amount of levels they take, then maybe dryad could also get a minus LA token feat at their last class level to compensate less power.

Another idea is to roll the nymph/dryad into paths that detail various types since dryad is a type of nymph. nymph (beauty), dryad (wild/trees), sirine (song), glastig (mind), rusalka (frost), nereid (sea), oread (earth)

Male could have paths like Verdant Prince (forest/power/pacts), Fossergrim (waterfalls), Satyr (music), Vodyanoi (old age/sea), Thorn (protection)

Maybe with a script convo for post processing selection of heads or skin effects and alignment weighting, even height?

If you're really keen on location bound fey, you might have them select a "home" area out of a list (greenhouse/undersigil/thalasia/brux/karasuthra/others), then for each hour they're away give them cumulative -2 str/dex/con until they return.

Yeah, except fey don't interest me enough to do that much work for a race that I personally have no interest in every playing and little liking for the lore of. It's simply about converting nymph to the new system and giving it a male version while staying balanced.
