Actually,
For colors I use <color=(color here)>, It seems to work just fine.
On a side note, you can also use "light". Such as <color=lightred>, and it makes sort of a pinkish color. You can do that with greens, blues, etc. You can even do a yellow and gold. I havent tried silver yet, as it will probially just turn out white.
Anyways, just FYI and stuffs.

Hex works just fine. You just have to be sure to flag it as hex by including the pound sign.
