those samples aren't of her making: their shape, consistance and colouration is very similar, but the ingredients, or their exact proportion differs slightly. the elven sugar, for one, isn't present, but only more generic sugar is

and yes they are poisoned, with a weak sickening poison to cause stomach ache

On step 127 of the standard test, Licca discovers the mild poison to cause stomachache. She makes a note, and continues with the rest of the test.

Meanwhile, Lucia notices the inconsistent number of samples, and follows the child to the Hive Ward, while still invisible.

After following the child to where it lives, Lucia makes a note on where the child lives, and rushes back to the bazaar to take down Licca's sample stand, and lug the remaining samples to the festhall. She and Licca needed to have a chat.

Once Lucia arrives at Licca's bakery in the festhall, she knocks on the wall. At that time, Licca is doing step 315 of the standard test. Seeing Lucia in the hallway, she finishes the step, gives Lucia a hug and greets her in their native language. "Sis!"

Lucia returns the hug and tells Lucia, "Dear sister, someone's been swiping your goodies with lookalikes. If you're up for it, we'll pay the child a little visit."

Licca grabs some of her samples, hastily puts them into a bag, puts on her sandals, and with Lucia headed to the place where the child lives.

the kid lives in one of the countless shacks of the hive, along with other dirty and skinny kids who manage and cooperate togheter to get by by themselves. the place has indeed a frail looking door, standing only thanks to rusty nails and a few chains. the walls made of wood, rusty thin metal sheets, glassless windows covered with stained grey rags, a stream of vapor blowing out through the holed ceiling while hanging buckets collects what few sludgy water they can from the periodic unhealty rain; broken tools lay about the surroundings of the shack, and trails made with black charcoal or white chalk trace faded lines along walls and ground, made months ago e not renewed, probably less and less used to entertain the starving imagination of the dwellers of this shack.
the kid lucia followed, probably a human, with dirt on his skin that makes his origins and colours hard to grasp, is trying to sort a soup out of some leftovers of doubtful origin and age; an olive skinned and hairy half orc child is sitting outside, fixing some of those tools and keeping an eye out around, while a dusty ash fiendblood girl with copperish hair is being helped by a young, dull blonde bariaur nestling on a small mount of rags, as the two sew togheter whatever dirt cloth pieces they can recycle; an half elf boy with gray hair and skin is sitting along the edge of the unstable roof, a smeared half empty bottle in hand, keeping watch as he takes long resigned pulls from it, weak legs dangling, his sleepy gaze losing at times into the deep far reaches of the curled, brazen, foggy skyline of the city.

meanwhile other similar people do similar things in the similar nearby shacks along that street and along other similar streets.

lucia and licca best notice the excessively curious looks bystanders and passersby shoot at them every now and then, their mixed chatters and rantings lowering to hushed whispers as they passes. or perhaps the two sisters best chose a better mean of travel than mere walking in plain sight in the narrow, oily, suffocating streets of the hive ward

Since entering the place invisible defeats the purpose of talking to the child, Licca and Lucia decide to take the risk of going through the ward in plain sight.

Licca then walks over to the child and pulls out a loaf of bread that the child put into the sample stand. "Excuse me, little one, but where did you get this?"

as the two sisters approach the shack, the kids spotting them with no difficult, they immediatly get wary, the half elf on the roof punching the metal sheets which make the ceiling to warn those inside.
the kids within the shack only have the time to peek through the windows and back off before the sisters enter the shack, and when lucia points her finger to the kid in question he freezes , nervous, and when licca shows him one of the samples he swapped, he feels caught and trapped, but tries to keep cool.

Lucia knew he was lying. However, she decides to keep her composure and let her little sister deal with it, as she's a lot better with people.

Licca continued, "We are not here to turn anyone in to the authorities. You may tell me the truth without fear of retaliation, as I merely wish to know."
