Odette was still kicking herself for missing the auction, even as she kicked feet up on the table with S.I.G.I.S in hand. Of course everyone knew the paper was nothing more than a rag of nonsense more often than not, but it was undeniable that rags had their uses at times. After all, it was often the text within the lines that made more sense than what was scribbled on the page.
She too makes a few inquiries here and there with varing contacts, mostly those within the House of Sixfingers, and a few friends. The who's and what's of the items and their new owners, particularly this 'statue' - one which had already roused her curiosity - and those whom expressed curiosity in it originally.

Corny would arrive at the tavern in the morning, despite it normally being closed at this time the door is open and he can make his way freely inside. Behind the bar is skinny dark haired girl with an unfortunate pimple on the end of her nose. He wouldn't go as far as to call her a tiefling but the dark red of her eyes would suggest there might be some fiendish blood there somewhere. As she sees him she sets down the glass she was cleaning and answers.
"The auctioneer? Oh I remember you. You were here yesterday, right snooty berk weren't he? He works for the Sarch merchants so you'd be best speaking to them. They're in the guild ward. But since your here there are some people who'll probably want to speak to you."
She calls out.
"Dawn! Dawn! You were right! One of 'em came back!"
There are footsteps and from the kitchen trots a gnome woman. Her friendly smile and easy manner seem out of place with the Harmonium badge pinned to her red robes.
"I'm told you were at yesterday's auction. Would it be alright if I asked you a few questions."

The copy of SIGIS Neerpha tosses into the fire burns away quickly. The bad news gone for the time being.

As Sasha asks around the Festhall the artistic community there would know a lot about the sculpture. It was one of only three made, over a thousand years ago. One has been destroyed and another lost so it is the sole surviving specimen. As she passes the gallery she would see the tall Efreeti woman who was present at the auction looking at one of the paintings. She'd wave Sasha over when she sees her a broad grin on her face.
"Oh I remember you from the auction! I know a bit about the statue, dreadful business that. I am stopping at the Bariur but its terribly lonely. Perhaps you'd like to join me for lunch and we can talk about it?"
********************************************************************************
Odette would learn that the first lot, a ring was bought by a halfling, a duchess from somewhere and now a Sigil resident. The second lot which turned out to be a scythe as well as the set of scrolls were purchased by one of the Golghero halflings. Her source cannot tell which one, they all look a like. The two slaves were bought by an elven planewalker and notable indep called Nienna and the statue was bought by the ill fated Mister Xef.
The statue attracted lots of interest. There were people from a great many different planes and sadly Odette's source does not know them by name strangers to the city as they are. There was an Erinyes from Baator who is staying at The Styx Oarsman in The Lower Ward. An Efreet Sheik and a Trumpet Archon both of whom are staying at The Golden Bariur. A few Sigil natives bid on the statue as well. An Air Gensai called Neerpha who is a companion of Factor Aidain of The Fated, A ne'er do well Planeswalker called Belkas Cornwall, Sasha Andor a Factotum of The Sensates and a man named Mabius who is a priest at The Temple of the Abyss.

Likewise, the Anarchist known as Archangel begins to tug upon strings of knowledge.
Quippers and jinkskirts are handed small sums of jink for information regarding recent activity in the Lower Ward.
Names, descriptions, places of residences of those who bid are all things the Archangel seeks.
Going one step further in their attempt, the entity also seeks the names and descriptions of staff who might have come into contact with the statue... both tavern and auction.
All contact is made through others and the information delivered.

*Iptai, upon reading the news decides to do a little different research. she has a way of remembering faces, and one she was sure she saw was the well known Factol of the Dustman. sure she wouldn't get to speak to him not without going through alot of channels, but she was sure someone new why he was there, and possibly the relationship he had with this retired merchant. She heads off to the Morgue stopping in the lobby and asks one the less dead things there about this Xu'ses Sarch and how he came upon this famed statue.*

On his way home from the Market, Rhistel closed his S.I.G.I.S. copy with an expression of utter annoyance on his face.
A murder, nonetheless, for that very piece of crap Neer had bidden all her money on.... It was just like that Sensory Stone theft shit all over again, maybe even worse now.
He wondered how long would it take to the Harmonium to start and check for everyone who had shown enough interest for that thing.
Tossing the newspaper in his bag, he hastened his pace heading directly to the workshop.
Whatever the Genasi did after the auction when she left him, better not be anything stupid. His patience and self control had already been put to the test enough in the past weeks.

flashing his widest and most pretentious smiles at the possibly fiend blooded lady, the kind you see business men giving to others as if they were having a whale of a time, when in reality they just want something.Iggwilv,Jul 20 2015 wrote: Corny would arrive at the tavern in the morning, despite it normally being closed at this time the door is open and he can make his way freely inside.

"Aye, ya got it roight, snooty berk 'ere." he patted his own chest with a fist few times "An' guild ward, eh? I reckon ya donnae know their address? Bonnie lass like yarself, the fella surely would tip off ta ya an address ta meet 'em with a drunken wink, nae?" lofting a brow at the beckoning that others want to ask questions "Otha's want ta rattle me bonebox? Eh, sure, might as well. They got a nippy sweetie?" he seemed to resort to thicker slang today.
Listening to Dawn the gnome being called out, expecting something larger, taking a while for him to turn his gaze down. Patronizingly he bent down propping his left hand against his knee and offering his right hand for shaking. Inspecting the badge properly to pry out the rank and possible title if it was engraved on it. Flashing a toothy grin once more.
"Oi there, always pleasure ta see ya lobsta's at work. An' sure was at the auction. I bid fer the papa' weight too. Even if I initially thought tha' it was shite... four hundred thousand, ya believe tha' keech? I oughta had become a sculptor if tha's wha' they go at. Anyhow now tha' I be a jalouse fer ye, wha' sort o' thin's ya want ta yatter aboot?"
Snapped his fingers as he remembered something and made one last inquiry.
"Oh an' I donnae suppose ya've got a manifest o' tags o' the participants? Tha'd be all sorts o' great. I'm in a look fer this oxter smellin' were-parrot tha' was in there."

out of curiousity jall would instead go to the hall of records to discreetly fish anything possible about house sarch and the artist who made the sculpture, as well as the efreeti killed for itPlaxy100,Jul 20 2015 wrote: *Iptai, upon reading the news decides to do a little different research. she has a way of remembering faces, and one she was sure she saw was the well known Factol of the Dustman. sure she wouldn't get to speak to him not without going through alot of channels, but she was sure someone new why he was there, and possibly the relationship he had with this retired merchant. News of the murder did not surprise Dace too much. He'd had a nagging sense that the previous owner was getting rid of those goods for more reasons than jink.
Figuring that the Hall of Records- and just about every other library within walking distance of a portal- would be swarmed soon enough by curious planewalkers, he decided to look into the lead he found most curious; Factol Skall. The (un)dead leader of the Dustmen's presence at the auction had long been puzzling the Mercykiller, though till now he didn't figure it was important enough to chase. The news changed that.
Although the Factol was likely to ignore any requests for an audience, he figured it would be worth a try, and so penned a letter to the Mortuary for an appointment.
(Will PM the message soon)

After having barely had any sleep, Neerepha made her way back to the inn as well, wrapped in a long, hooded cloak. She wasn't expecting to find it open, but she wanted to have a look, perhaps getting some information, before moving elsewhere.
The door squeaked when the Genasi placed her hand on it, entering the inn. She took look around and noticed a man speaking with a Gnome. Those ragged clothes and the bandaged arms and legs - she was sure who he was.
Neerepha slowes down her pace, but still proceeds toward the bar counter. The ÅŸalvar she was wearing rustled once more along with her last step, right at Corny's back.
"It seems we woke up with the same idea." She says in a low, blank tone, as if she were unimpressed to see the tall man there.
