I suggest to meet soon too coordinate our efforts. Harmonium and Takers will be able to provide troops and I ask the indeps to be our eyes.
We also need informations about the most important portals quickly, so we can start with containment procedures as fast as possible.
To coordinate with the Takers approachr Factotum Ra'zeth.
Hograth.
Dace responds to Hograth's letter:
"Hograth,
Just send word of when and where you wish to discuss things. In the mean time, we'll ask those we know to keep their eyes open.
As far as important portals, I can't claim to know the locations of most, but I would suggest starting with the portal to the Astral, as that plane in itself is an open door to other worlds.
Rallying the not-so-Heartless Takers behind him, however few they might have turned out, Ra proceeded to lead this rag tag group towards the Cipher's Great Gymnasium and Doomguard's Armory, intent on seeking help from the other martially inclined factions. On the way, he made good use of his now well known arena armor, calling whatever seasoned planeswalkers, bashers, cutters and berks he found en route to join the first step in fighting back the invasion.
Despite widespread disquiet in the city, it seemed like business as usual within the magnificent halls of the Great Gymnasium as the group arrived to garner Cipher help. The devotees of the Transcendent Order continued their exercises, their dances, and of course- their meditations. There weren't any guards placed at the Gymnasium's periphery for added security. In a way, everyone inside the Gymnasium contributed to security. Just as the group approached the gilded marble entrance, a githzerai emerged with perfect timing- as if he was expecting the group. With a serene nod yet a serious expression on his face, he curtly stated:
"We will act at the appropriate time."
With that, the gith departed back into depths of the peaceful marble halls. Though the Ciphers' help was not immediate - one couldn't help but feel a strange sense of security from their pervading calm.
Ra'zeth had gathered what rag tag bashers he could find, marched them up to the Barracks, discussed matters with Hograth and Dace, then gave them a rather 'rousing' speech.
"Okay ladies, and gentlemen, GOOD NEWS! We get to wreck shyte up in a place where nobody will bat an eye!"
He lets it sink in, then continues.
"And more GOOD NEWS! Our enemy seems to target spellcasters first!"
Again, he waits for the cheering to quiet down.
"So, tae get to the point, our goal is to investigate the quiet neighborhood we all know an' love, called the Slags. We're tae go in, find any fockers and neutralize everything that looks at us fonneh. But now comes the bad news! We don't have that many spellcasters... so they'll most likely come after us in a bit. Wards don't work, but spells that fortify yer mind directly, like Resistance, does! Keep that in mind, and grab yer spells while ya can. Our enemy likes to drop in an' out of strange portals... whatever ya do, don't go after them! By some magical bullshyte way, they lead to dead ends, and we'll lose ye for a while when we'd need ya the most... maybe! Or ye'll just get lost like the berk ye were. 'nd remember, we're here to defend this city, naet freely pillage and destroy things in the chaos. If I here any of you killing an innocent or breaking into some house fer shits and giggles, I'll cut YOU IN HALF MYSELF, got it?!"
He gave each and every one of them an intimidating gaze, something which was made quite effective by him drawing an enormous greataxe to illustrate the point.
"Also, we're gonna have a little warlock leading our group this time... he'll try if various arcane magics, such as invisibility, soilence, or what not have any effect against our enemies. DO NAE REVEAL HIM, unless he comes running back at us scared shyteless, ya hear?
Now, any questions, or can we get this show on zhe road?
Ohh, and more thing... look at the Dabus. See how they're acting like nothing's wrong? Naow, listen... if they didn't lose it, then the Lady is still fine and dandy. AND THAT MEANS YE HAVE NO EXCUSE TAE LOSE IT, EITHER!"
As soon she returned from her travels Kala heard the rumors and headed out to the foundry to get the latest news and possibly ask for any potent information.
When Kala arrives at the foundry she finds most factioneers in a state of shock, trying to keep themselves busy with their tasks, chatting about what happened, what some of them even had witnessed.
Even the sounds of the work seem off, the rythm of the hammers, the humming of metal, the crackling of fire. The voices are hushed and some suspicious and wary glances are exchanged- not everybody trusting his fellow Godsmen anymore.
She notices however that most faction high ups are missing- perhaps hiding away, perhaps casualties of an earlier strike?
She calmly inquired what happened to the high rankings and took the occasion to talk to those she knew, trying to get a grasp the general mood and people's main concerns, trying to cheer up those more depressed than paranoid.
Her calm and her example soon shows some effect, some if her fellow Godsmen returning to their work- not longer to distract themselves but to create something, to show that their mind is still unbroken.
However some rumours turns slowly into facts- like the one of some most talented artist and weaponsmith has gone mad and has been delivered to the gatehouse by his wife.
Hograth informs Wuhi that they will search the Slags for portals or any invaders that are hiding there, hoping to gather more informations about them while at the same time destroying or driving away a few of them.
