Charles has no troubles to assign the contracts and permits he found to the places marked on the maps- which are mostly mortal settlements.
The goods in highest demands are food and construction materials and the payment is usually either coin or raw materials and sometimes enchanted items as well.

He sees several opportunities to make some profit there- but of course he is also aware that this might not last because of the rather unstable local conditions- and every expedition or caravan will involve some risk and has to be guarded well.

Charles would put the information away. This would be a task for the logistics team back in the compound. Making the deals was up to CharlesÂ… making them work was up to his managers.

As they entered the work site he would begin to take note of the area. Leaning over to one of the gate guards, he would politely ask who was in charge and where they could be found.

As the Caravan passes through the gates Vara notices this place is warded well against teleportation and the whole area is also Hallowed with an Invisibility Purge tied to it.

Emila notices the same, the Hallow effect cutting off some of the invigorating effect the layer has on undead. She also notices a Flaming Skull badge the woman wears on her belt and the whole group sees that there are not just mortals in this settlement but also a few demons- but no undead except the ones brought in with the caravan.

Hailing from Oerth as she does Emila would recognize the skull badge. Their presence her made sense after all. She showed the woman a badge of her own. The skull motiff of her faction.

"Whilst we unpack and begin bartering there are a few things I'd like to ask you."

The woman recognizes the badge of course ans gestures to a flat building nearby- the only one made if stone and not just crude wood and bones and rough rocks.

"Lets talk inside. The wards will not harm you and it is a public place so you can enter it without problems." She walks toward the building already, expecting Emila to follow.

In the meanwhile Charles talks to one of the guards, some tall human with ashen grey skin, his armour part metal part bone part some insect shell, the helmet hiding the lower parts of his face. A long curved blade and a wicked polearm made of some dark purple metal serve as his weapons.

"Leaders? There are two. Silnea leads the priests and mages who run this settlement but they usually do not care about is much. Looks like she just takes your wyvern rider to the temple.
Do-Thakan is the one in charge of the quarry and pit and most people listen to him. You find him with the workers at this time of the day."

Emila does not comment on.how quickly her nature is spotted. She makes her way inside.

Emila finds herself in a small shrine of Wee Jas now, the building warded against the layer's damaging traits. There are wooden chairs and tables, several bookcases and a small altar and through some curtains to her left Emila can see some living quarters as well.

Evrything is simple and austere- a place of worship and study as well as a small stronghold of law.

"Please sit if you like to... and may I get you something to drink? We are always prepared for visitors of your kind."

The woman is polite but also no fool, treating Emila with distant respect while always keeping her guard up as well.

Vara looks around the place, staying with Charles and takes note of any and all magical wards and protective barriers. She lazily sips her flask as well.

Charles would do as he came here to do. He would negotiate the trading of raw materials and supplies (incoming) and the purchasing of local finds (outgoing). The Consortium could supply Lumber, ores, textiles, fuels (coal and oil) and foodstuffs. He would use the resources he already controlled in the Consortium (and the Prime world they based themselves off of) and the newly acquired papers as well. He would try to get the best possible deal, of course, but would leave enough wiggle room open to the locals so that they saw a benefit of sticking with the Consortium as they moved from location to location. The negotiations of finished goods (crafted materials and enchanted materials) would be up to Vara and Emila.

((I didnÂ’t want to bother with all the negotiations in RP as it would be a long and boring task. He would ensure he changed into his business clothing before negotiations which drive his diplomacy and appraise skills up substantially.))
