Well colors/names of the items/history of the items are generally all just flavor for tricking you thinking you found something special. Since...

1) A lot of items in reality don't have any names carved in them :P but just "Sword" sounds boring.

2) As most items don't have carved names in them... neither do they have any coloured "name" carved in them ;P and again just "Sword" sounds boring.

3) How do you write history of the sword into the sword? :P



So yeah, the color is to just trick you that you just found something special although in reality you didn't hehe.
