You know I was at a Jim Henson exhibit a few months ago, and I learned that when the writers couldn't come up with an ending, they would either blow something up or make one of the characters eat another character.

If it was obvious, then there would have been no trial... unless someone is working to bring Hildmor down for their own reasons... in which case, Hildmor is fried anyway.
