Greetings again, everyone. I just decided to create a new thread for this. Not for flaming or something, just I do not want to trash a PM of every DM on server, so I will leave it on forum.
This morning I visited nwn2db for a usual routine of creating a new build, and I saw most recent public one http://nwn2db.com/build/?248101, which reminded me about things happening here as well. Nothing seems to change there, and anyway I do not care for BGTSCC. The problem is, that to me, it looks like SCoD is moving that way too.
I hope, that it will make some players and administration to consider current situation, and lead to future improvement of the server.
If no EM and DM is interested in evil characters and events, evil characters have nothing to do, aside from PvP-related things like robbery or something.
Regards.

Responding to a post in another thread, since it's more appropriate here:
Morthos, for instance, it might be known OOCly is helping the Gray Vizier on the side. Again, OOCly, he sent a slave that was deaf, dumb, and illiterate to deliver Archibald's ransom. He even placed a Geas on the slave to ensure that, despite her handicaps, the slave wouldn't betray him by accident or out of spite. If any of you claim to know the above 3 sentences IC, except probably Mander's PC, I'd question exactly HOW you knew that was Morthos.
Also, Morthos is outright mocking of Argent (Lucadia's character) at this point, because Argent never stands toe-to-toe with the Vizier.
Sometimes being evil does mean that you act "chatty". But he also has this quality of being politely spiteful and openly mocks those who believe in gods (because Athar). He is more likely to consort with groups like the evil dragons (if you visit Khazeet's, you'll see that group). He derides Celestials as often as he sees them, even being rude. Evil doesn't have to be "I KILL EVERYONE" and/or am an open criminal.
My plan is, over time, for Morthos to have more and more of his (figuratively) slimy fingers in the pie.
Ok, here's the thing. Sneaky type is valid evil roleplay.Shadowcryer,Aug 3 2016 wrote:Name me one Fiend, who truly roleplays evil alignment. I saw no one. Everyone of them is chatty and friendly, getting drunk at Khazeet's with another Celestial Chick #720. The only evils I saw, aside from myself and Leoric's characters, are Vizier, his Death Knight and Goreclaw. Others either are "sneaky type" or not roleplaying character sheet.

I think this could be mitigated if there were events that actually involved evil acts. And, no, I don't mean being evil for the sake of being evil. But maybe there's a cult doing blood rituals for the sake of power OR a player buying slaves to sacrifice them to a god for evil blessings. So far, there's really no DMs/EMs who run these kind of events. (You could even have a 2nd DM/EM who runs an event in parallel to oppose the evil guys.) 95% of events are basically "good wins some conflict against the evil NPC plot", as far as I've seen so far.Alersia,Aug 3 2016 wrote: The problem is - bad guys are forced to get along with good guys and vic versa.
Same reason why pvp and group based "player encounter" will fail.
Closest we got to evil events was the Gray Vizier doing his deal, & he was forced to lose his faction, sneak around Sigil due to being a wanted criminal, etc. He basically lost everything, all because only the Athar considered it "bad" to raise a sleeping god.
Heh, we don't even have any corrupt Fated running around. And, no, I don't mean a Fated who tried to PvP people for taxes; sorry, Shadowscryer. I mean the type of Fated who is so good at greasing the books that he's been stealing for years, without getting caught.

Since you asked me to provide the names of fiends in the previous thread, currently the most active ones I see are Untaramar's Untaramar, NightWisp's Tsesaria, and Nimiane's Vhyenieth.
In the past there's been Chanan ap'Vaazari (Sp?) and someone else's character (that I am blanking on the name of for some reason) whose backstory was tied to his. I'm sure that if you asked about half the server would chime in with the names of their fiends and how they play them.
If we opened it up to all of the other evil characters on the server we'd have quite a solid list. Far from having having a minority, I'd say that we have a rather healthy balance of Evil, Good, and Neutral PCs.
And you're right, there is a lot of Fiends really wanting to get super chummy with Celestials, but if that is how they want to RP their characters I am not going to tell them they are doing it wrong because that's what they enjoy. Fortunately, those who are actually serious about actually playing Evil characters tend to stick around a lot longer than the ones who are looking for people to spend a night with.

Roleplaying an Evil Fiend is fight Celestials and other good beings at all costs. Damn, even Blood War still exists.Sinlinara,Aug 3 2016 wrote: Since you asked me to provide the names of fiends in the previous thread, currently the most active ones I see are Untaramar's Untaramar, NightWisp's Tsesaria, and Nimiane's Vhyenieth.

As I said, all names provided still fall under "Khazeet's Friends" category.

That's a vast oversimplification. There are so many other things an evil fiend might do. Will they ultimately oppose good beings? Hell, yes! But it's not as simple as "I fight good, because I'm evil". A fiend isn't going to be in the middle of Khazeet's, spot a Celestial, and try to kill that guy. That's on the level of this: Skeletor. If you don't want to be treated like a Saturday morning cartoon villian, then don't act like one!Shadowcryer,Aug 3 2016 wrote:Roleplaying an Evil Fiend is fight Celestials and other good beings at all costs. Also, the Blood War isn't allowed in Sigil. It IS active in the Planes. Nothing is stopping evil fiends from going to the opposing side's areas. We have plenty of portals to the Hells and the Abyss. Morthos hunts Baatezu regularly.
I do think you REALLY need to stop assuming that because someone doesn't be a dick to everyone in Khazeet's, it doesn't mean they're not RP'ing evil. I generally agree that a Fiend wouldn't be chummy to Celestials, but this still is Sigil. Fiends don't openly fight Celestials in the streets of Sigil. They can deride Celestials, like Morthos does; but they aren't allowed to fight them.Shadowcryer,Aug 3 2016 wrote:As I said, all names provided still fall under "Khazeet's Friends" category.
Fiends who are actually chummy with Celestials...I find that to be bad RP. The best way to deal with that? Don't RP with those guys. /shrug

Perhaps I was not clear, but being a Fiend with good relations with Celestials - is a one on mmillion case, and now it seems at usual.rapsam2003,Aug 3 2016 wrote:That's a vast oversimplification. You just can't murder anyone. Id does not stop you for roleplaying rude and unfriendly.rapsam2003,Aug 3 2016 wrote: Also, the Blood War isn't allowed in Sigil. It IS active in the Planes. I just use Khazeet's Place as an ultimate example of all kinds of lore-breaking, basically you could insert any place instead of Khazeet's.rapsam2003,Aug 3 2016 wrote: I do think you REALLY need to stop assuming that because someone doesn't be a dick to everyone in Khazeet's, it doesn't mean they're not RP'ing evil.
I try to RP everything, if I already involved. Sudden ignoring people IC seems bad for me.rapsam2003,Aug 3 2016 wrote: Don't RP with those guys. /shrug

Khazeet's buddies would depend on what kind of villain you're portraying. Vizier is a lich and therefore has got zero interest in social interaction unless doing so advances it's goals. Liches tend to spend centuries locked away studying in their lair otherwise.
Living or fiendish characters would probably find it harder to be a loner like so, and going to khazeets would be a good way to overhear your enemies/gather intelligence if you can keep up the civil act.

Being civil should not mean being friendly with everyone, and roleplaying different from your sheet's alignment.Mander,Aug 3 2016 wrote: Khazeet's buddies would depend on what kind of villain your portraying.
