Yes, just a small post about something recent happening would be just sufficient to remind people the threat is real otherwise its kinda easy to dismiss it to "something that happened months ago / something that concerns only a few people" and I'm not even talking about plot hooks, just information.

Perhaps an option or a NPC that stands beside the entrance portal that tells everyone"what's currently going on" if they click on him?

I don't think that's a good idea. It adds more unnecessary "keep updated" work for builders and event makers. If someone wants to write to SIGIS, fine, absolutely. Go for it. That's everyones own prerogative, but I definitely want to maintain events as unbureaucratic for DMs to do as possible, as to keep them coming. :P

IMHO a bit of bureaucracy and transparency is better than people making wrong assumptions and all wasted the energy used to explain them they're wrong.

As EM Lyrium, my doors are open to player requests and events. Please send me a tell if you would like to organised something. Initiative goes a long way.

As a player, my main character has a lot of IC trust issues, thus when things aren't shared largely with strangers it's not a personal attack. I think this should be kept in mind - a lot of the time people aren't deliberately snubbing one another. It's common fact that you're not going to spill your life story, or share the most intricate threatening details of day-to-day activities with a complete stranger.

And of course I understand that though my character wasn't requesting a life story - simply offering to help in an event. On more than one occasion.

While the staff may say be patient because there are a lot of plots going on, some of us are still waiting for our plots/events to be picked up for more than a year and a half if not more.

A year and a half? :o That's quite a long time.
