He eats slowly, as always enjoying what is served in this restaurant and alwys trying something new- which is a bit odd for a man who usually cultivates his habits and lives a regulated life like Hasclaan.

"Very interesting- indeed it must have been interesting times. Anyway- not much I can do right now as I doubt your Factol will see me to answer my questions.

Thank you for your help. Enough of business- lets enjoy the evening, shall we?

Have your heard about......"

"The Factol rarely speaks to me and I am one of his Factors..."

As the topic of conversation changes they enjoy a pleasant if uneventful evening of small talk.

Next day Hasclaan will focus his research on Yanek- going through the records, trying to find out where he used to travel or if he aquired any strange goods. Also he will check what properties the man owns in Sigil.

After a few busy days spent investigating and working at the courts Hasclaan returns home and changes into his adventurer's robes before he heads out to the Gatehouse, using a a portal to go where he is to meet Yanek.

Hasclaan arrives in the gardens of the gatehouse and the garlic clove in his pocket makes the portal open. He steps through to the small demiplane. Yanek is already there. Somewhere Ambrose rattles around and mutters to himself. If the ancient lich is aware of them is doubtful. Yanek speaks:

"So what do The Fraternity make of it all?"

"Well, decisions are made above my rank but many papers pass through an Aide's hands.

The Fraternity is less than happy with the tensions in Sigil and there are rumours about sanctions being prepared against both Hardheads and Sinkers. Of course this might even add to the mess so.... perhaps we find a different way out of this.

A way that makes most of us happy somehow."

He starts to walk up and down, his hands clasped behind his back.

"The Hardheads and Red Death want blood for their fallen and a victory to ease their bruised egos.

I guess the situation will be similar with the Sinkers... but as more and more signs prove an involvement of the Temple we might find a way this thirst for blood and need for victory can be satiated without factioneers beating each other up.

As for Mauric.... there is a lot of blood on his hands but if we can prove that he killed in defence or was tricked or perhaps blackmailed he could get away with a light sentence.

Of course I am no judge, I can provide no guarantees.... however as a Guvner it is my duty to find loopholes and gaps in the web of laws that are woven around us. So if he can be found and might act as a witness.... he might survive."

The ageing sinker nods.

"The Factol pushes too far and too fast for entropy. It is often the way with destroyers."

He considers what Hasclaan says.

"I could get in touch with Mauric. But he is too useful to be wasted in this way. I need a guarantee he will remain alive and of use."

"I will see what I can do, will speak to my superiours."

Deep in thoughts already he bows to the other man.

"Thank you for meeting me. I will keep you informed."

And with this he leaves for the courts, stopping at home only to grab some books and change into his formal robes.
