The Lai'Oo'ran noted Danielle's weary demeanor and for a moment betrayed a look of pity as he looked her way. He would turn to Lyra and whisper to the other elf. "Truly need we to make this up to our Sovana later. So verily weary she is of late with all the flurry of activity. Although, know I that once this last is tended things shall quiet themselves again and all will come to normalcy."
The Lai'Oo'ran would then turn to tend the first ogrillion of the five. He was thankful for the cowed state they were in. After all, the Lai'Oo'ran realized that the enchantments of his blade would not last very long at all. To compound the difficulties of subduing via magic, no form of magical sleep would endure the pain of tattooing. No form of magical subdual would last long enough or allow them to do what needed to be done for that matter.
Prick of the needle, squeeze the bulb, form the pattern. That was the way of the task at hand for the time being. Five of them they had to complete. Once these two were completed they had but three to tend.
In the meantime, he noted Danielle's arrival with breakfast for the orcish chieftain. It was verily about damn time that he had brought his small clan under reign. This the Lai'Oo'ran silently decided as he toiled on.

The Lai'Oo'ran knew pain. Knew loss, knew sorrow. All of which were old companions to he whom walked this shadowed path. Why then had he expected differently this time? Had he been merely fooling himself all of this time?
His boots traversed fiery path, dank swamp, and every thinkable place in between as he sought one in particular. The one whom had become his beacon of stability in this alien existence.
Pain he knew. Not the physical form, this altogether more of spiritual nature. That feeling he had almost repressed by power of this other. Now that this other retreats from him. He was left with nothing but this pain.
Perhaps he should return to his Sovana. See if perhaps she had returned in his absence. Yet he doubted such. He knew that look portended true betrayal by her beliefs. It was not so, he realized this and yet... it was.
Quiet word he would leave with his Sovana for her. If she would have anything to do with him now. He would have it be so, and yet he realized that it was in the end her measure of what she deemed betrayal. This measure that shall reign over her choices to come.
He could seek her til the day his existence ends. Perhaps he would find her. Perhaps she would always evade him. That would not stop him from making the attempt. To this existence he may as well be damned. If an arrow she puts through his heart for this, so be it.
The Lai'Oo'ran continued his hunt for now. But soon he would need to take his rest back at his Sovana's quarters. But such rest would only be of necessity so that he might begin anew the search. To give up now would belittle all he has labored for.

When one loses that which is held closest to heart what measure is there of an individual? Be it faith, love, or otherwise the individual in question invariably finds the precipice of utter despair. To have tasted of such sweetness once, such sweetness lost and then found once more.
A balance there must be to such. What measure can one have of oneself nay; what measure is there to be had if one cannot find the strength to stand? These thoughts and more raced through the elf as he walked portal after portal.
Almost aimless he seemed in goal. All life is born, nurtured to its peak, and left to wither away into darkness. That is the way of things. That is the only way this Lai'Oo'ran knew. When confronted with a scenario that was verily intent to coax seeing in the eyes of another for a moment. He paused. The question gave him pause. He had no easy answer to such.
Judgments are not to be brandied about so easily. To live one must fight. To die is to surrender to that silent requiem of the night. There will come a time when it is to lay down one's life. But whom is to say whether it is now. Or ten thousand years henceforth?
To endure the passing of time is to die a little each day. But in that time. One also must live for the time they have remaining.
What then did he live for? To see his Mistress' will be done? The answer was verily not so cut and dry as it were. He knew that his answer was yes. But, there was always a but to present to such queries. There are some needs that while they do not necessarily transcend faith. They certain walk the same path if one can find a way to make it work.
Perhaps that was why the Lai'Oo'ran was ready to fight this time. To prove worth and intentions. He knew not where or how he would find the one he sought. He just knew that he must. For to walk the shadowed path now as he was. He would feel very hallow.

Another entry in flowing Lai'Oo'ran..
Faith is such an interesting term. To give of one's life in devotion to a higher power. To believe in a cause, or to believe in an individual. The last form of faith was brought out distinctly this eve.
The one whom brought forth such was none other than my Dalninil. How curious that she spoke of Lyra being blinded by the first form of faith and lacking in enough of the last form. I do so verily know that faith in your other is a very necessity of such relationships. However, when one's faith in an individual is tested by the very faith that they have always turned to. Which will stand the stronger?
These questions I ask of myself now? In truth, a balance I can find in all three forms of faith. Perhaps this truth seeking that Lyra seeks will bring her to that balance as well. I could very well be blinding myself with false hopes.
I sensed need from her. Yet distrust. It is evident she lacks faith in my choices and judgment. What then am I to do? Await her return with faith that she will come to terms with recent revelations? Perhaps she is coming to such decision already. The frustrations of not proving one's word as truth are verily a multitude.
For the sake of my Sovani, my Sovana, and my beloved, I shall strive to make all efforts to prove the worth of placing faith in my judgments. It is all I can strive for at this time.

The course was set. This the Lai'Oo'ran knew quite well as he took a brief walk out amongst the cagers. Nearly three days it would be until the meeting. Until judgment was rendered and the sentencing made. Odd, the elf considered that he had not thought in such terms in a very long time.
He idly perused the selection of scrolls that Minerva had to offer. His thoughts turned to a rather peculiar order from his Sovana. One for scrolls of his make in bulk. He completed her request working far into the anti-peak.
Nearly three days, we die little by little every passing moment. How so shall we live then with each moment until the end? He knew the truth, his dalninil knew the truth. Only one did not know the truth that they had made attempts to convey. Only one could not believe that what was yielded had been truth.
It seemed that as it was said. "The road to Hell was paved with the best of intentions". The Lai'Oo'ran would smirk at those words and move on once more. He had seen enough and had more tasks to tend back at the house.

A potential for the training of ethics in the usage of magic? That was something the Lai'Oo'ran had often thought lacking for many whom took up the art. Even now as he penned notes and memories to the book at hand, he could not help but wonder if a place for him could be found in such endeavor.
"Mayhaps." The Lai'Oo'ran mused aloud to himself as he sat within the comfort of his Sovana's home. He had provided the first measures in such process if he was to indeed find a part in the new Academy of Magic.
Of course he also considered it a wonder that his thoughts could so quickly turn to other matters following such a near disaster close to home. Isonade had made her stance known admirably the elf had decided. Matters could have taken a far more dire turn than they had. This he was fully aware of.
The return of Ymerion to her side was an added release of burdens. Perhaps now the wounds of late could begin to mend as they would. What does not unmake one will verily make one stronger. Perhaps this was why the thought of a new focus intrigued him.
It seemed appropriate the Lai'Oo'ran considered upon further introspection. To further the understanding of arcana was at its core amongst many of his duties of faith. More importantly though would be the chance to perhaps condition a sensible usage of magic in those that would seek to learn such.
He had but to await a chance response to the pair of letters he had sent out...

It is a time for somewhat new paths to be taken. A chance at following a subtle message that came to me from Reverie. A chance to further the knowledge of Arcana. A chance to likewise make efforts to stave the misuse of such.
A position on The High Council of Majika I was granted. A first duty was tasked to me. I was to locate a suitable individual for the purpose of teaching the responsibility and ethical usage of arcana.
To such measures I put forth efforts to walk the common paths that scholars take within the cage. By good fortune I did note a fair mix of scholars in the various branches of arcane study within the Hall of Records. I spent time approaching some and inquiring as to their research interests in some cases. Others I left to a more philosophical discussion.
One in particular drew my attention at last. He wore a band that emitted a faint glow about his silver hair, his eyes were violet. He bore pale skin and yet unlike most elves of the moon variety he was tall like I am. His pale gray robes merely accented his fair skin tone.
Names were exchanged formally his being Laucian Holimion and I had furthermore discovered that he had recently traveled from the demi-plane of Sildëyuir to further his research.
My inquiries turned to his beliefs on certain matters of moral and ethical magic use. I quickly discerned he was of very like mind to myself as to what is and is not responsible in regards to usage. I suggested that he apply formally to the Academy of Majika as they were in need of individuals such as he.
It was with good tidings that he deemed it fitting to do such. That had not taken nearly as long as I had expected afterall.
This academy represents a chance to set a better standard for many whom would walk the cage. I see no reason not to further the sharing of knowledge for the betterment of all. There is yet much work to be tended though. For that I look to friends and family that they lend support.

At the last the academy has commenced its operations. As of now we already see many applicants filing into the academy that has but officially opened its doors. Scarcely could I have imagined partaking in the administrative aspects of anything of such nature but a few scarce months prior to now. As of now I verily see how quickly visions could change.
I do suspect that soon I shall find my time spent to some great length tending to some of the duties so discussed behind closed doors at the first council meeting. A review of the potential candidates. Regarding what form such reviews should take I have but to observe the proceedings I suppose and then follow the precedent that is so imposed.
In regards to the sudden if not surprise departure of Ymerion and Isonade I can say that I patiently await their return and it will be my pleasure to ask of them and learn of this prime that they chose to visit for a time. It perhaps would be of some use to know somewhat of what one could find in such a plane.
As for other matters of lesser import. I tend to such as they so come to me. I have yet found cause to be the mentor when such is desired. How curious that the more that changes the more remains as it was.

So they had returned. This the Lai'Oo'ran mused silently as he sifted through ancient tomes that were likely as old as that which was given to his beloved. The one of reference to the Moon Elven peoples and the other to magic likely long forgotten and most assuredly dangerous as the elf quickly decided from brief explorations into the crisp and vividly marked vellum.
The Lai'Oo'ran was most assuredly glad to see the two elves returned. That aspect moreso than the gifts was that which the elf marked as important. He mused the possibility of garnering some useful information from the stellar telescope so ensorceled to display constellations of the sky over various locations of this Toril. After all, constellations are a useful navigation tool.
Such would most assuredly keep him for many an hour occupied...

Much has come to change of the late. The academy that I sit upon the council for is now commenced. With such I find my attention drawn to those walls that house much learning within. So many minds at work in one place. So much to be discovered.
Of further note is the shift in priorities that Lyra has displayed. Towards the production of essence and the quick sale of such. Her need is such as to seek co-ownership of the parlor that had been a home to her for so many years.
So many changes for the two of us. At times it seems that all has both settled and yet become unsettled. A peace amidst a flurry of activity. Such is infinitely preferable to the alternative methinks.
