Rather unsatisfied with the moss examination, Kor'vain turns his hooded head towards the returning bat, which circles low above him. Tugging his cowl lower to protect his eyes from the torchlight, he comments briefly, sort of absent-mindedly: "Seems like someone has lived here for a while...but it seems they are gone now. Perhaps we can discover something more following the stream deeper into the cave complex..."

She ponders for a moment. Watching in both paths directions once more. Her gaze lingers on the road where the soft sound of the water seems to come from.

It can be a long way down...water cuts deep in rock. But if we simply find...and follow the stream. It will be easy enough to find our way back.

She pauses then and turns her emerald eyes on Chakra

And yes...we should be careful.
Water does attract all sort of things and creatures.

Even if it seems as if they are long gone.

In the stream where you least expect it, there will be a fish.

Her head moves towards the darkness as she still adresses Chakra

I believe you wanted to go ahead?

"Wait."

Falheen lifts his hand, then gestures at the other tunnel.

"I suggest to take a short look at that first. As it does not lead down I think it might be short, perhaps just leading into an alcove. Yet I don't want to be surprised by something hungry in case we have to retreat."

He turns to Kor'vain.

"Perhaps your bat can take a quick look before we proceed? Just to be sure."

"My bat...a look? Funny, I like your style...He already did. As I mentioned before, the place shows signs of former occupants...but also the decay of a long abandonment. There is no one left...at least in the immediate proximity. However, someone or...something...could still be hidden. We should proceed carefully, regardless of what my little "friend" tells us."

He gives a somewhat exaggerated sigh, then explains, forcing himself to speak with great patience.

"Yes. I heard you. But I fear you misunderstood me.
I was asking about you bat taking a short trip to the other tunnel. To serve as our eye. The tunnel we do not plan follow. A peek behind the next corner."

He smiles faintly.

" It will be.. is it a he or a she by the way?

Ah.. anyway. It will be able to catch up with us fast enough."

The longer they gaze toward the depths the more the species with greater vision are able to make out, even the torch light makes spots of the water visible, though it is hard to make out all the details on the next chamber and the walls still obstructs the presumed side cave.

The Same Cave Ambience Still

[size0]((Just so you know, some of the my-painted details may shift picture to picture since they're all free hand and to individual pictures x) ))[/size]

Despite being careful of the sounds they make (Presumably), the conversation does cause the subtle sounds cause light echoes around the caves, though it's not certain exactly how far it would reach. During the assignment the group was also chosen a leader to ensure proper hierarchy, it was mostly to get through tie breakers. The temple had chosen Chakra Payne for the task for her devotion to the temple and its cause that she'd understand the value of exploration through the religious belief, but also that of the security.

In any case, thus far it has appeared to be absent of life or sentient hazards from the little they've explored and the chamber before them didn't appear to at least have anything moving, no light sources, nothing that emits sound other than the dripping water and the soft stream of water.

Sshhhhh!

*She whispers but making her voice just audible enough for the group to hear.*

Keep your voices down. If there is someone here you have just given them ample time to set up an ambush with your conversation.

Also since bat's can not actually see, the report would be somewhat inaccurate. If you wish to have a look Falheen be my guest and catch up, otherwise we proceed.

*Chakra would then turn and head in the direction of the water which she was now starting to make out.*

(((Wish tremor sense was a thing.)))

"Perhapsss we have the bat ssscout ahead. And I sssssugest we put the torchesss out. Leasst we attract attention thhhat way. Thosse of usss with adaptive vision will guide the others." Reaching into his pack he pulls out a couple of cords of rope. "We can ussse thhese to lead thossse who will be hampered."

*Still keeping quiet Chakra would stop and speak again.*

That decision lies with Kor'vain.

*Looks to Kor'vain*

If you wish to send it ahead it would be helpful, if you do we will respect your wish and keep close to it.
