Maybe listing those places would help them to find a solution.Brindas,Mar 5 2015 wrote: Please stop closing the Abyss... it just makes people go places that absolutely cannot be played with lag and causing wipes.

The lag isn't limited to one area.Neerepha,Mar 6 2015 wrote:Maybe listing those places would help them to find a solution.Brindas,Mar 5 2015 wrote: Please stop closing the Abyss... it just makes people go places that absolutely cannot be played with lag and causing wipes.
When one area lags, the whole server is lagging. All it means is that it forces people to Niflheim and Carceri, which, if lag occurs, wipes the party. This happened while the Abyss was closed, thus it was not the Abyss.
Where the lag happens is not really relevent since it hits the whole server.

We were n Carceri during the one he mentioned.Neerepha,Mar 5 2015 wrote:Maybe listing those places would help them to find a solution.Brindas,Mar 5 2015 wrote: Please stop closing the Abyss... it just makes people go places that absolutely cannot be played with lag and causing wipes.

We -might- have pinned down the issue. After we have tried some things, more will be clear, as for connection, the connection isn't the problem :)

Pulling tons of mobs and casting sh*t is about 80% of my gameplay right now =( I'm in the States, though, so you'll probably be zonked out by the time I log on.
Have we noticed any patterns in terms of whether the lag is during peak European or peak western hemisphere game times? Heck, I don't even know where the server is located...just a thought, though. On Trinity, we had some issues with State-side folks being able to log into one of the GM's test servers in Germany...folks in Europe could get on fine, but folks in the States either couldn't join, or timed out within 60 seconds from lag. I don't know much about network stuff or multi-core CPUs, so it may be nothing like our problem...seems like we've tried a lot of other things, though, so I thought I'd mention it.
I only noticed one rough patch last night, probably around 12:30 am GMT, but it was only a few seconds. I was playing from about 11-2 am GMT relatively lag-free.

The server is based in Europe.
However, we still know this is an issue with the new, faster server, because these lags were not happening before we changed boxes. Do trust that extensive testing and tweaking by the admins is happening.
