//The following is a summation of this afternoon's event, so everyone is up to speed.
Vessarion engaged Mauric with a bit more small talk before the subject of a tour of the shipyard was brought up. Takis stepped forward, and led Mauric and Azor along with a few of their entourage to the ship, pointing out the highlights along the way. He then pointed them towards the entrance. Once they were inside, the porthole they'd climbed into the ship through slammed shut.
The innards of the ship were even more clearly organic than the exterior, and they were forced away from the door by the acidic hazards and creatures inside the ship. Inside they met Varnia, who had also been "fed" to the monster ship some days previously, as well as a few other barely alive doomguard. They discovered that the "ship" was not in fact a Ship of Chaos, but some sort of demon. The real Ship of Chaos had been moved, and the entire previous doomguard contingent had been fed to this beast.
Meanwhile, the rest of the doomguard contingent began to get suspicious, and moved to secure the dock and rescue their leaders. Fighting broke out in the shipyard.
Mauric, Azor, and Varnia managed to kill the leader of the ship creatures, and then destroy the "ship's" heart. This in turn caused the entire ship to dissolve, and they were able to escape. They were met by the doomguard who had secured the docks, and together they fought their way out of the demonic encampment and to safety.
The party now must decide how to proceed with the expedition in Twelvetrees.

((We all agreed that it was a truly epic event. Awesome job both of you!))
They retreated from their exposed position on the immense dock structure with the floating behemoth gushing a rappid as that of a waterfall from its huge bulk of body as it dissolved. Jogging march in serried ranks towards the faction bunker.
Once in a more defendable position Mauric spoke. "Finding the ship is our formost task, yet we cannot do that while accousted by the Tanar'ri. Besides those two traitors are the best lead we have to it. I say we lure them out, take them, and extort the information from them. Opinons on that?"
He pressed his weary back agaisnt the wall slinking down sitting. Without his comrades it had been feeding the entity now. Taking a prepared board with a arc of papre and a quill attached to it. There was many practical problems with his main arms condition but many could be lessened by preparation this was one of them. he scibbled with a unsteady hand listening to the others as he did.
"Once we remove the planners of this plot it will likely collapse, demons have no true alligence. How much supplies do we have here? How long can we last and is there any deposit of weaponry to use against us near by? Maps of the shipyard do you have them here?"
He folded the letter and sealed it with a signet ring on his finger glowing with a draksome heat as the black seal was melted to shut it. Reaching it towards Varnia who could traverse the verse with greater easue than any other amongst them. "Take this back to the Armoury with haste and return to us with the same speed will you? We will need some holy weaponry as much as I loathe to admit it."

The ship is missing. It was replaced by a unknown entity. Masked as the ship it floated at the docking. Constructed or not we never learned. There was little choice but to destroy it as we were locked into it and had to force ourselves out. Once on the docks our men came to our aid and fought off the demons guarding it. Several of our men had alredy been given to it and is now lost. A Galbrezu named Vessarion and a cohort named Takis seem to be the leaders of this plot or at least that is what we have been led to believe. We will retieve the ship from what stole it.
The situation is dire. We are now down to roughly XX ((He tried to give a number estimated of the present men.)) number of Doomguards. Reinforcement would be advised if they can be spared.
Mauric

The Doomguard retreated away from the demonic encampment and the shipyards - and unfortunately, also away from the portal back to Sigil. They did manage to find a very defensible location in what seemed to be a nearby quarry, however, and set up camp there.
Presumably Varnia, or some other messenger, stepped up to take Mauric's letter back to Sigil. Because the demons were routed for the time being, getting back to the city wasn't too hard, but marshaling the reinforcements (which Pentar gladly supplied) took a few days.
On the second day after making camp, the demons began harrying the outskirts of the encampment. When the reinforcements finally arrived a few days later, they reported difficulty fighting their way to the encampment.
Fortunately, the Doomguard had brought supplies with them for a few weeks, and the reinforcements brought more, as well as demon-bane weaponry.
On Mauric's request for maps, the engineers were able to produce the plans for the original shipyard, which seemed to conform more or less to what the party had seen - though the demon's had expanded significantly on the original plan, so there were some differences.
The following letter also arrived from Pentar:

I suspected that the demons were trying to steal the ship, though I had not thought it would already be gone. The demons should be punished, but I am not as concerned with who is responsible - all demons are equally treacherous - as where our ship has vanished to. Your first priority should be finding it; the means I leave up to you.
I send this letter with reinforcements and supplies.

He studied the maps looking for defendeable positions such as bottlenecks knowing it was impossible to beat them with numbers. He also looked at weak structures that could be used as weapons razing towers over the enemy or loosen a segment of the shipyard to send every enemy on it tumbling down. All in cooperation with the engineers. Marking pinpoints where they would chose to battle.
Having no inclination of a drawn out siege he planned for a decisive move that would shatter their abilities to continue for at least as long it would take the Doomguard to reach the leadership. Executing it so that they advanced between fighting their way forward carrying with them enough to make temporary fortifications during those advances taking advanatage of the demons lack of disiplin and impulsive nature.

//In case there was any confusion on this subject, I cannot run the next installment today. The next day I have potentially free is Monday.

//I should be able to get something ready by 1pm tomorrow (GMT-6), if that works for people.
