"The situation is a bleeding mess!"
He slams the door shut behind the two of them.
"I have some pacifist anarch lover camped out in the bazzar. I have Mercykillers fighting each other in the streets and making the lives of our men difficult and some drow bitch of a Factor telling me how to organize my own troops when she can't keep her own in line."
He inhales but the rant is not over yet.
"To make it worse Delwood is dead. And we have a threat from the enemy that more people will die if their beggar is touched. Delwood was a jumped up little prick who had no right questioning my orders but he was one of ours and he deserved better. So we are going to find who did this to him, and when we do I do not want them to survive long enough to be arrested. Our best lead is the beggar, this is done in his name. I want him brought in,and I want him scrubbed 'till he sings, and if any of the red death interfere arrest them. I'm done with the softly softly approach."

Hograth listens to the man's outburst, nods a few times- thinking about what he just learned.
Part of him understands the man well- but he has learned that a simple situation often requires a complicated answer.
He ignores the bit about the Mercykillers, deciding not to get drawn into interfactional bickering if he can avoid it- instead concentrating on the key to this events- the beggar.
"We should not let ourselves being provoked that fast. It is what they want."
He gestures in the direction of the door as if 'they' are just all waiting outside, the Half Orc's voice calm and he starts to walk up and down in the small room while speaking.
"Rash actions lead to mistakes.... and I want our opponents to make those mistakes. So what do we have? How was he killed? And what does the pacifist say about people killing in his name?
If he is true about his motivations he will not like what happens there.
Bagging him now, scrubbing him will lead to nothing. Will just make him a martyr and more youths with too much time and not enough brains will join our enemies to cheerfully blow themselves up 'for the cause'.
So I suggest we find out what we can about him.. about his background, the source of his pacifist attitude. He might be the reason for this trouble but he might be also useful to turn the blade that now is pointed at us around."
He pauses- stops his prowling to look at the Measure again.
"What happened to Delwood? How did he die and where? How many cells did take responsibility for this coup?"

Larris draws breath and clenches his jaw. For all his apparent faults he does not seem to be the type to hide behind rank or stand on ceremony, and he doesn't here he listens.
"Delwood was on duty by the entrance to Undersigil. He was strangled with a garrote wire. Poor sod didn't even have a fighting chance.
I see you are here because Tels worries I might start a war. I'd like a war Thorn, wars are simple. You know who the enemy is. Then you kill him. Let it not be said I did not try. We'll do things your way, get me results. If you can't then we will do things my way."

"I like to win my wars. I doubt you are different."
He grins then continues:
"I'll do my best to get rid of this... this situation as soon as possible.
Of course I'll keep you informed. What do we have on this murder case so far? The body is already in the Dustie's care?"

Larris shakes his head.
"I have had one of our clerics repose and examine him. I have refused to hand him over to The Mortuary until they are done. I don't trust the dusties and I don't know how infiltrated they are and I don't want the evidence contaminated. Get what results you need and then hand him over. I got a rather Irate letter of a Factor Valios, you should probably hand the body over to him, her or whatever the walking dead go by when you are done, but not before."

The body sits up suddenly. It jerks around and turns towards Hogarth. Its voice rasps responses.
"I didn't see who attacked me, I think there was just one, I was there because Notary Simmons was ill and someone had to take his post. The Measure picked me."
