A Hunt For Ravens!

She smiles at the bird, relieved that it is out of Sigil, and gestures out across the swamp of Karasuthra. "We've been setting up camp here the last couple weeks," she continues, talking to the raven as if it understands her. "It's nice and should have plenty of food for you, if you stay." She hands the bird another bit of rabbit's meat, still smiling down at it. "I'll try to find any of your mates still left in the cirkel city."

Kiuna looks back at the portal, grumbling under her breath, "... killing for sport and money... Erestem have it all..."

First it looks around, feeling rather comfortable in this place- almost at home


The raven listens to her and then... seems to answer?

It is not the usual cawing but there are words- rough and clumsy- but it tries its best.

Kiuna looks back at the bird, startled. She doesn't recognize the language, but she recognizes that it is a language.

Slowly lowering herself down along her staff to look at the bird, she frowns in frustration, and shakes her head, "I-I don't understand you..."

The bird bobs its head- or does it nod? It seems to understand her better now and she also feels its frustration.

Then it starts to look around in a rather excited way- they are on one of the upper planes? Perhaps someone is around who can translate?

The Kelvezu cannot resist this attack in its current form- nor did it expect it. So it quickly falls to this spell and in its desperation it assumes its natural shape again, the cage bursting apart.

Vivana lets out a surprised scream, turning to the creature, her eyes wide.

The other ravens caw and sem nervous, scared, hopping and flapping around inside the cage.

Later he finds a Raven near the prison and inspection with true seeing reveals it is another Eladrin- a Bralani this time.

In the meanwhile Kiuna finds a single, back feather nearby the portal leading to Karasuthra. Its shaft is torn and there is blood on it...

She hated the Hive Ward. The undead from the Mortuary always made her angry, and Anacail tended to react on that anger by getting even more testy than usual.

Still, she promised that she would try to help.

Keeping close to Anacail, she ventures into the dark place, the air thick with death and rot. She hasn't gone long, before the sound of cawing draw her to a pool filled with bloated corpses. ((Boneyard Pond)). Eyes watering at the stench, she none the less sits down in front of the bird, speaking quietly with it. "You probably don't understand me," she sighs a little, and looks uneasily around. "Thomar sent me. I am to take you to him."

Kiuna saw the bird tensing already- the Hive is a rough place and ravens, especially fat ones- are considered a delicacy.

But when it hears the name it hesitates... and then hops a bit closer but trying to avoid coming too close to the panther.

Kiuna smiles a little and sneaks a bit of rabbit meat up from her belt pouch, tossing it carefully toward the raven, and trying to keep her motions slow and fluid, so not to startle it. "Thomar told me about you. He knows how to make you right again. I am to take you there." She keeps talking, mostly to calm the animal, but also a little in the hopes that it might understand a bit.

"Little bit," Verdant replies to Emilia as the kelvezu drops its disguise, "It seems you've been deceived, sister," he adds to Vivana. "That one is more of an assassin." Verdant draws Cryptic Verity from its sheath, interposing himself between the kelvezu and the ravens. "The question is, sent by who?"
