Ceremorph,
Nowhere in his post does it say that he is Thor and he asked for a Favored Soul flavor. I was just leading him in a general direction. It is a good solid build that can be role played as desired.
"well new char idea is a Thor Focused Character.. thinking heavy Favored souls for this one.. I need ideas on how to build him.. Weapon of course is going to be a War hammer..
have at it then "
Also, www.nwn2db.com is a great resource for character building and testing. It saves people huge amounts of time on rebuilding or simple mistakes.
-----
I personally do not like caster builds due to all the buffing and resting. It drives me crazy. So I prefer fighters, rogues, rangers and casters with minimal buffing.
But I guess we each are going to have our own opinions, likes and dislikes.

:D
as for hips folks forget there is a GIVE to the GET. while one hips build might not be seen by a spot built build they might have crap for damage out put. While a rogue is great for hips they are dependant on sneak attacks for damage typically.
There is no uber do all build else everyone would use it.
Best mentality is "it not what is built its what is rped".

Why not? What is so strange about a Favored Soul having Palidin levels? Or Cleric or Fighter levels?
What defines the role playing aspect of this charactor? Here is a guy, favored by a god, he tries to understand his calling by seeking training as a cleric, realizes he is not meant for that kind of life and follows the path of a Palidin and somewhere in his travels he takes a few lessons from a figh instructor so he can be more efficient in combat.
What makes this a bad "role play" build? That its optimized for best synergy?

A paladin is a champion of holiness and order. They are bastions of righteousness and justice, champions of good and law.
Thor is a god of chaos, a brawler and a ruffian. He scoffs at laws and laughs at the idea of limitations. His followers, or someone who wished to emulate him, would therefore be opposed to those same ideals. They would strive for freedom over restriction and liberty over order. They may be as good as any paladin, but will never be lawful.
The two concepts are incompatible.
Cleric and Fighter would be fine. Paladin is not.

Ahh, I see your point and I had thought you ment something else.
Although I can see a lawful good person that loves to party, roughhouse, etc. He just would not be evil about it. With only two levels of Palidin its not like he's any good at being one anyway. ;o)
Its just takes imagination and a bit of story telling to Role Play it.
No offense, but you seem all set on the "Can't be a Palidin". I can envision many ways his alignment and background could work and be fun.
