Some fresh air to the server. Take a leap of faith, disturb the status Quo for awhile and make ScoD atleast for awhile a place of adventure and danger. I know the Lady doesn't allow any harm to come to SCoD so come up with an event to circumvent that.

Have the DMs/EMs gather on making a large and several smal mini events around a plotline and catch peoples attention. Involve private guilds and factions in diffrent scales and do something crazy.

Involve diffrent players than can add to this plotline through PLayer Spread rp. Work together making this not just a DM event and not just a Player event but both. One side working as the antagonists basis or third neutral party that is affected and the protagonists which are most of the server population.

Again this is just my personal suggestion. So many times we have veterans speaking of "oh you remember that large plot that was so awsome around 2010???", I think we were bolder then than we are now. Do something unexpected, dramatic and show that Sigil City of doors has yet alot of adventure to offer :)
This is actually going on RIGHT NOW!!!

There IS a server wide plot event that seems to be underway. If you're not seeing it, then you needto try being more involved! I have heard the DMs involved even saying they want MORE player involvement!

Those veterans need to update themselves. The last major plot was in 2016-beginning of 2017.

I'm not saying that server wide plots aren't slow. But there is something big about once a year (reliably, for the past 3ish years).

You can't leave it up to EM/DM/Human interaction alone. It's ridiculous to expect that a thin player base spread all around the world magically converges to play on the same day, at the same hour to do an event that will go at the whim of DMs/EMs that may even (accidentally or not) screw up and cause a tornado of drama, accusation of favoritism or whatnot.
Those events are all fine and good, but they're the cherry on the cake, if you get my drift, they can't be the backbone of ANY server. Unless you have a staff of super active DMs that covers all days and hours, which is impossible for almost any NWN2 server.

Probably when a storyline/overarching plot is mentioned, what could be a great addition would be a chain of quests, something automatized that players can enjoy (solo or group) any time, any day, without the need to wait or coordinate with another DM/EM.

As for player zones, I believe the most exclusive, awesome as hell zone to have, is the Planeswalkers area.

It's like a personal chill spot if you can get there.... Used to sit there for hours... Nobody uses it. It's the centerfold for anyone wanting to go anywhere. Ever.

Also... Disclaimer added to secondary post. Don't want assumptions.

As with others, I feel a lot of the server is unused or perhaps sometimes the server is just too big for itself area-wise. As it was a concern before I took a break, with the amount of players you have, mixed with the amount of hubs you have, sometimes folks find themselves wandering aimlessly before seeing another player in-game.

I mean, besides Rond. Who was always in the Bazaar. The Amount of player Homes, one of the many taverns, off-sigil cities (and their taverns) never truly localized a common ground where most could meet. Yet, I must also say, we had good days. Where the bazaar would be packed, folks everywhere. Gathering up Carceri runs. Browsing the many shops, etc.

Hm... Think I was ranting a bit... Wow, I've posted 6 times in a single month... What is wrong with me.

A better Role Play XP system would be lovely and beneficial as well as people would be more incline to stay in Role Play Hubs more and EM's can easily Run Events by that area.(Baring Annoying Technical Issues with the bloody client that makes me want to drink bleach). I've seen this system implemented in many PW in NWN1 and 2, i think it's a very cool idea and would work wonders here.

the problem with a rp exp system here is that is will increase the divide between level and gear. Unless there is also a RP means of making money added as well I can see some unintentional issues.

As of Right now, there aren't many Merchants around tbh. I wonder what could happen, or will happen if the gold cap is increased from 300 to 1000 so people can have easier time making money and buying stuff from NPC's if a PC isn't around.

What about a modified auction house system like in most mmo's? But something where like you have a special server saved inventory, and then can hire a certain npc to sell off your goods? I'm not sure how practical that would be though and I imagine with server crashes it may cause some issues.

I feel as though once loot drops are returned to their previous frequency, this won't be too much of an issue. Speaking on my own behalf, having just rebuilt and reveled my main (and her 8k bank) with no loot to show for the entirety of the grind, once this is fixed the likelihood of collecting and selling goods will also increase. It's really something that needs to be addressed ASAP.

Well, I mean, all of us have the ability to think of more plots. May need an EM/DM to actually run the plot, but none of us are unable to think, man.

This has been discussed time and time again. (There's even mods for it on NWN Vault.) Word to the wise: never going to happen. Why? Because then it all becomes automated. You don't have to talk to a merchant. You don't have to set up shop. Quite simply, that's NOT something the staff wants to happen.
