"Hooh!!" He slows down his mount, tries to stay in the dark, away from the torches and other sources of light as both he and his guards work well without- for now.

Staying close to the trees and bushes he watches the battle and he reaches into his mind to ready another Wail the word almost on his tongue... the power almost ager to be unleashed.

But he is not here to fight, to kill. So he watches, tries to find out as much as he can about who is fighting whom and what tactics are used.

He would see a number of Heronites trying to cross a river at a ford,as they do so a number of hands reach out and grab at them dragging them under. From the water a dozen or so undead bodies emerge. Not needing to breath the undead have concealed themselves in the ford waiting for their prey. The Heironites all in heavy armour that will sink in the water and taken by surprise may not last long.

He watches the battle with some interest, keeping his distance as those Heironites are known to channel positive energy sometimes which would be harmful to his undead.

Trying to find out who is in charge of the undead he waits- also he tries to determine if there are only mindless undead at work or perhaps some more intelligent ones?

The undead are mostly skeletons and zombies. Their method if attack would suggest an intelligence directing them. As Hasclaan watches and waits it reveals itself. A short young looking man in tattered and torn robes emerges from the water he touches one of the Heronites and the man withers away and dies. The company the young man keeps would be at odds with the symbol of Pelor sewn across his chest.

"Interesting.... very interesting." Hasclaan hops from his mount.

"You two stay here..." he says to the horse and Waltham.

Then he walks down towards the battle, not bothering to hide himself, the three Babau by his side.

He does interfere with the battle but now keeps an Undeath to Death spell ready should the undead decide to attack him as well.

However should the battle go badly for the undead he will pelt the melee with a 'Negative Energy Burst'- as a sign of good will... or a show of power.

Hasclaan does not need to cast the former and the undead do not seem to need him to cast the later. Although in an open battle the better trained better equipped Heronites would make short work of the undead. In this case they are taken by surprise and pulled from their horses in full armour they are easily pulled from their horses and drowned. Their struggles cease and already beneath the surface of the water the bodies begin to twitch and stir into unlife. The undead have noticed Hasclaan and there seems to be something resembling a stand off.

"Greetings!" Hasclaan adresses the man in the robes, ignoring the lesser ones, instead directly hailing their leader.

"Well fought I must say... good grasp of tactics... perfect use of your strenghts and their weaknesses.
I am Hasclaan Guunt... and I come to talk."

Pausing he opens his arms in an encompassing gesture towards this undead army but his eyes stay on the leader.

"Should one of you see me as prey... think again. As they...", he gestures to the demons "thought the same. So.. can we talk now?"

Of course he is no fool, the Undeath to Death spell reay, almost begging to be released and part of him desires to cast, to turn this creatures to ash and then call down the light of the sun to burn away the rest. They are not his, they are a random variable, they might cause... chaos.

But they might yet be useful- if this first meeting runs smoothly... or almost smoothly.

The man dressed as a pelorite remains where he is he does not seem inviting or friendly. He does not seem hostile yet.

"I am Roland, and you are no follower of Heironeus,or a demon. So what are you doing here?"

"Well met, Roland, and this is a fair question."

Hasclaan does never let his guard down but he also tries to look not hostile, staying as relaxed as he can.

"I was sent here from a planar town to investigate the recent increase of demonic activity. Watching, learning, reporting.... I was not tasked to fight here.

To be honest I am curious myself- especially as Iuz or his followers might be involved. I see on your tabard you are from one of the temples... so it is possible you know something I will find useful. Perhaps we can come to an agreement.

As a necromancer of some skill I have.... talents undead might find rather useful."

Roland listens his cold gaze never blinking as he assimilates the information.

"The followers of Iuz are indeed here, they are the Heronite's true quarry. Instead the fools blame us. They chased me from the ruins of my temple and fancy me cornered here. I will evade them, give me a means to do as much and there is much I can show you, and much here I will no longer need."
