This is outragous! You usurp jurisitiction over the Fraternity in the courts? Your honour... if this is permitted... then no one shall ever acknowledge the law of the Fraternity ever again. They will understand you hold no authority over law... your words will mean nothing in Sigil so long as the Harmonium do as they please.

Your word, here and now, will determine the mood in the street for a very very long time.

"Yer honor wouldn't complain if defense would march out and take their witnesses defense attorney... he'd merely move onto sentence, and I expect our judge to deem Hildmor d'Kridis innocent to current charges, but the defense and the judge already made it abundantly clear that the enslavement is not part of this trial, thus in any case Hildmor is actually coming with us. So... to Arcadia. Ladys Grace." [/li]

"Cratten Erroc, I hereby issue an immediate warrant for your arrest. Officers and Bailiffs."

The Gauth eyes the other harmonium officers and mercykillers in the room along with whatever court security is present

"Take him into custody or find yourselves complicit in actions that will disrupt the law and order of Sigil in ways far more profound than anything our defendant is charged with doing. If you truely work for peace, order and law, then you will help to uphold the sanctity and authority of this court."

((At this point it is up to Agony Aunt to rule on how the rest of the Harmonium would respond to Cratten's and Plargh's orders. I am also unaware of what resources the Guvners have for enforcing their own will within the courthouse, but I can't imagine they would be completely powerless to stop Cratten's single-handed dissolution of the trial.))

((Edit: Also yes, Mercykiller personnel would also be present and their actions ought to be taken into account))

//well I can't say for certain but I know the Mercykillers are closely alligned with the Fraternity and seeing as the Judge ordered a bunch of them to be in the courts at this time...

Would a Mercykiller want the Harmonium removing their right to bring Justice?

"Harmonium, I've already proved the judge is partial and that Fraternity is not beyond taking bribes as the first witness proves. I will not listen to this judge and if an warrant is issued it must come from some other judge. Yer honor has no right, he told me to leave and I am, now he tells me that I am disallowed to take the Harmonium prisoners with me? I already stated that it's his choice whether this court would go to Arcadia or if we'd continue it... ye made yer choice yer honor. I work for Harmonium and our philosophy is simply "Peace is our goal. But if it takes a little war to get others to set things right, the Harmonium way, so be it. ThatÂ’s how weÂ’ll reach our golden harmony.", no Harmonium code is broken yer honor... I'm doing what is necessary to see this trial brought to an impartial end. Ye better consider how far ye step with yer authority to arrest a Mover of Harmonium in courtroom where he only spoke against a corruption and suspicion of affiliation and reminded what were options. It ain't going to look good politically." [/li]

"If this were any place but Sigil you'd be arrested for treason. At the very least you've shown you have no honor as you only pay lip service to the courts until they rule against you and then you act as a child... a mere brat.

You've shown this court... and this very city... you have no right to enforce the Fraternities law... and unless this court upholds the order and arrests you on the spot we will also ignore the court, as obviously is our right, and we will leave."

"Spare me your comments aimed to impugn my impartiality Mover. Your every action speaks to your own complete lack of impartiality in this case. I have made no indication as to whether I believe the defendant guilty or innocent, and have in fact, made several key rulings in your favor, sir.

I have moved to arrest a Mover of the Harmonium in my own courtroom for presuming to dismiss the authority of the Fraternity of Order within its own courts and for heedlessly attacking the pillars upon which the structure of lawful society stands in Sigil.

Every clueless in Sigil is made aware of three simple facts:

The Harmonium enforce the law and keep the peace.

The Fraternity of Order interprets the law and judges the guilt of any who are arrested.

The Mercykillers punish the guilty and enforce justice.

You have made it preeminently clear that you wish to deny the Fraternity of Order's right to judge the guilt of the witness standing before us today to the fullest extent of its ability, and by attempting to remove the defendant from Sigil, you seek to deny the Mercykillers their right to punish the guilty of Sigil for their crimes committed in Sigil, if indeed the defendant is guilty.

You yourself brought this case before the court, and myself. You agreed at the beginning of this trial that MY word is law, not yours. The prosecution is not granted special privileges to override the rulings of the court he has willfully given the right to rule on this case, and to change venues to one more favorable to himself, merely because of his status in the Harmonium. All are equal before a court of true justice Mr. Erroc, even the Harmonium.

You will allow yourself to be removed from this courthouse and you will allow this trial to proceed in your absence. Your actions will not influence the court's rulings or interpretation of the evidence, and your superiors are free to release you or punish you as they see fit. As you say, the Harmonium deals with its own matters internally. But your part in this trial is over."

The gauth speaks in a booming, but dispassionate tone

"Silence. This court has had quite enough of the temper tantrums of both the defense and the prosecution.

The court rules that the evidence provided by Mr McStickley is admissible, as the Harmonium has long possessed the right to make its own plea bargains and otherwise handle the affairs of lesser crimes not brought before this court. If the defense wishes to question the legality of this fact further, they are free to sue the prosecution at a later time.

However, the prosecution's latest outburst violates not only my initial rules of the courthouse but also the standard codes of conduct of any lawyer operating in any court operated by the Fraternity. "

Plargh floats over the podium, all eyes fixed on Cratten

"It is not your place, Mover, to squall like a child and threaten to take your toys elsewhere while endangering the alliances your betters have worked long and hard to maintain, simply because the defense is doing its job in attempting to draw the prosecution's methods into question. However poorly they are doing so.

You are found to be in contempt of court, and also guilty of breaching the peace of this courthouse as defined by the court at the beginnings of these proceedings. You will follow the bailiffs out of this courtroom to a holding cell, where you will remain for the duration of these proceedings. In deference to the alliances that hold the Harmonium and Fraternity together, your superiors will be naturally have full authority to do what they deem best to discipline you, if they feel it necessary."

The gavel swings down, cracking on the podium like a gunshot as the bailiffs approach Cratten to lead him off

"The court will now call a brief recess while a new prosecutor is found, before moving on with the witnesses in what I hope will be a more efficient and less embarrassing affair."

As the court ends for recess, the Drow sitting near the back row speaks to some of the bailiffs... he offers himself up as prosecutor... If questioned or his background looked into, the one known as Ea'ral would frankly have no recorded experience in law, is not a registered lawyer in Sigil or has anything to do with the case at hand. He has no connections with Hildmor or the Harmonium, though he did seem clearly keen on the proceedings.
