Dace frowned at the question. Granted, the question behind Lady Pain's inactivity had been floating about since the Carnival attack, but he hadn't given it much thought himself since the dabus didn't seem to think a lot of it.

Is that really important? You suggested that the invaders aren't much aware of what she's up to, if they think she'll come back. He paused a moment. ...all right, fine. She's.... I don't know, testing the cage? Doesn't care? Wants to clean it up of some of the rot and thinks this is more fun than flaying everyone? Anyhow, it's not like anyone's waiting on her... I just wanted to know if someone under a glamour to look like a dabus could fool them or not. Or if a dabus decided to fix the rift in the gatehouse, what would happen?


What about the Uva....whatever.... they coming for something specific beyond what the rest are doing?

The presence listens to Dace.

"I only know what I have read about your Lady. It seems she either cannot or will not help you. If the former I would advise you find out what prevents her and put an end to it. If the latter...."

A stab of panic enters Dace's mind. It belongs to his guest but it soon explains itself.

...if the latter I would worry. I would worry this is what she wants. That she may oppose you."

It allows that to sink in.

"Again from what I have read impersonating a Dabus is dangerous, have one of the others do it. You are no good to me flayed. The Uvuudaum? They are creatures of power akin to your more powerful fiends or angels. In my old life my pact was with one. They seek to warp dominate and control what they meet."

Hours later, Sill gave up, taking a stroll to the dining hall of the inn.

It came to her after second helping of seasoned meat.

She needed few specialists to help her.

Later, rouge drow took rest in her room. She felt confident about these two. Surely, they could find something...


The only question was, would they arrive?

after getting back from sewers, and after a bath, wuhi seeks out dace, sasha, kala, vara, possibly hograth too...basically those people she trusts enough and that she knows are fighting the far realm invaders, to privately share what she learned from the cranium rats (unless for whatever reason they do not wish to hear them)

Dace would hear all that wuhi has to say, revealing what his "friend" jas told him after she is done. Additionally, he tells her that this new companion will also help them find other possessed or infected people, so they'll know if one is approaching. Id she has any questions of her own for it, she can ask away.

wuhi is mostly surprised that dace's ''guest'' is so forth coming, thus she asks dace better about the nature of it ((pratically, is it one of the parasite insect thingies used to control people or something else?)) and why it seems willing to help

she would also possibly ask for more details about this uvuudaum, the name not familiar to her

When Wuhi went looking, Vara is found wandering the Sigil Marketplace, selling some crafted weapons. She stops what she is doing and shoos away those waiting telling them that she will get with them later.

Sitting on her stool, she listens to Wuhi's story offering something to drink. It is whiskey of course.

Dace seems almost impatient when he explains the entity's nature to Wuhi, this being the fourth time he's had to do so for someone.

"It's not a parasite", he tells her. "It was one of those green things, or at least a type of them. He - it- claims to have been human once, one who fell into a warlocks pact and was eventually changed into one of them. Right now, he claims he wants out- wants help finding a body to live again. He's agreed to help us exchange for that. Says he can identify the infected or possessed- by sight and when they are near. I'm also hoping he knows more about the attackers in general...."


Some time after their exchange of notes, Dace would give Wuhi a letter. "You know Kazuko, right?" He asks. "I need you to find her at the Gatehouse, and get this to her."

Assuming she does so, Kazuko would read the following:

"Kazuko,

I've spoken to some people about the evacuation. We may have a possible place and guards available. Will confirm when all is ready. Just hang in there a bit more. Again, a head count on how many are being evacuated would help.

Also, remember that we have to be very careful with screening. I'll try to assist, but If I cannot come for whatever reason, you can probably rely on both the Sign and druidic artifacts to assist there; I'm told the invaders react quite harshly to contact with such things.

Burn this letter after you've read it. If the infiltrators catch wind about this, we can forget about getting anyone out."


Once Wuhi departs, Dace ventures out into the bazaar, looking for a certain tiefling woman by the name of Rannia....

In The Lady's ward a portal opens. From it columns of troops in black and red armour file out of it and begin spreading out. They enter and commandeer the large homes near by. They care not for the threats and pleas of the well laned bloods of The Lady's Ward. They serve justice and that is all that matters. Squads of soldiers begin fortifying the area much in the manner of an invading army establishing a beach head. This all accomplished in little over an hour and once finished a red banner baring the mark of the wyrm is raised over the fortifications. The last through the portal a tiefling in her late teens with a cold ruthless look far beyond her years surveys the scene and smiles. Factol Alisohn Nilesia left Sigil shortly after the conflict started. Now she returns with a cadre of Mercykillers hardened in the eternal war of Acheron.

Charae was pleased to hear the Factol had returned. She had only met the young tiefling in passing but Alisohn's reputation had reached her long before. The dark elf was excited to see what the little girl was prepared to do.
