Her face revealed some bewilderment as she took the plate. Holding it with minimal skin contact with the tips of three fingers and well distanced from her face. She passed it directly to the the gnoll behind her.

"Yes a drink would be welcome." With that she left another large coin on his counter.

While she waits for the drink she seems thoughtful. Elaborate word games twisted by magic was something she was familiar with in her former life. Her gold hued green eyes darted from place to place rapidly. After a few seconds she fastened her gaze on the tiefer again.

///Sorry for the late response

The fire giant stands watch while Mae speaks with the tiefling, seeming more concerned with the Mercykillers across the way than what the merchant was saying. He payed more attention than he let on, however.

(( no worries ))

It is hard to say what the Red Death squad's mission is, they stay together and seem to have the necessary papers to pass through the barricade quickly. But they are still met with fear and suspicion and the tiefling in command of the barricade guards seems to just wait for a reason to turn them away.

In the meanwhile Mead gets a bottle of some... well. Probably ale.
It is an opaque, dark orange obviosly slightly alcoholic brew, smelling both sweet and spicey.

The tiefling meets Maed's eyes and the face around his neck seems to scream- and pictures fill the Fey'ri's mind, pictures taking her away from the stall through some narrow alleys through a gate along an ally leading up a steep hill and to a building.

It only lasts a second and leaves her with some headache and somewhat nauseated but she feels she knows now how to find the place he told her about.

Behind their leaders the mercs devour the meal- discussing with lowered voice the traits of the sauces and texture of meat- and they seem to agree that the result is quite tasty.

Lowering her head she clasped her temples caught between her thumb and index finger. Shutting her eyes and baring her teeth in a painful grimace. Passing the bottle held by the neck on to the two gobbling mercs blinking a few times somewhat disoriented as the rush of images disperse.

"That would be all. My thanks." Rasing her head looking upward towards the giants fiery eyes. "We should leave. There be stead not far away I wish to visit"

Unless Ganatog renewed the discussion she would turn around and walk in the direction she was shown. "The merchant gave us an direction. Tails and Angles Inn. Little speak for the Abishai trading here. What do you think?"

He looks away from the beset Mercykillers, nodding.

"I think any advice given here should be heeded warily. We will see if his words hold true, though." He pauses a moment to take a deep swig from a canteen on his belt, drinking a gallon's worth of water in a few seconds. Wiping his beard, which steams from a few stray drops, he moves to follow Mae.

The mercenaries share the drink as carefully as they shared their meal but again they seem to enjoy it.

Maed finds the way with ease, indeed everything seems like a deja vu for her, the streets familiar, even the broken step on that stairs that lead up to the city gates something she feels eerily familiar with.

Ganatog draws quite some attention- a giant something that is not seen often but the looks are more curious and wary than hostile.

Soon they approach the gate- a towering structure, guarded by a barbican made of the same black stones the walls are made, the portcullis made of barbed silver and cold forged iron, the high double winged doors made of reinforced black wood, symbols and glyphs drawn on them, humming with power.

It is guarded by a squad of tieflings, clad in razored armour the colour of rust, each one armed with a dagger and a double bladed polearm and who seems to be their leader carries two largem serrated sickles on her back.

The guards do not challenge the Giant and Fey'ri- they merely watch as the group passes through the checkpoint and Maed's new 'memories' tell her about the murder holes above and the traps beneath their feet. They also tell her that leaving the town is never a problem... entering again might be more difficult, though as can be seen by two guards who just thoroughly check the papers of an entering traveller.

(( Spot for both PCs, please. Also if you guys want to ID the symbols on the double doors I need a SC roll))

She strode towards her goal with determinded steps dull clanks was heard as her metal sabatons met with the stone. Unflinching as she ascended the stairs. Unwise perhaps to exit without though of how one would enter again. Structure and these levels fomalities was some thing alien to her however and were both confounding and appalling. She did not halt until she reached the gate. Unless Ganatog would stop her she would continue to walk towards the gatekeepers in likewise fashion.

(Spot ,Mod 5: 18, Spellcraft ,mod 7: 23)

Ganatog inspects the gate and guards as they approach. The giant could guessfrom the look of the tieflings that these were trained killers, the kind unlikely to accept excuses or ignorance of the rules.

"Take care with these." He says to Mae quietly as they approach.

As they walk closer to the doors they see that permanent symbols of Pain are carved into the wood, inlaid with silver and Onyx, the enchantments powerful enough to reduce many attackers into whimpering bundles of agony.
The ceiling is high enough for Ganatog to walk upright and the giant sees movements on the level above throgh the murder holes.

The entering traveller offers many documents which are all thoroughly examined, some are stamped, some seem to require signatures a complex, time consuming procedure.

As the four travellers pass through the portcullis the squad leader watches them closely, sizing them curiously. But she stays silent- a professional who wants to know potential troublemakers or opponents but does not waste her breath with attempts of imtimidation or power games.

Silently the doors swing open, and the portcullis is lifted, a cloud of dust blown in from the dry road outside that runs towards the mountains.

She nodded ever so faintly at the warning. Her demeanour sinister and focused as she looked to the guardsmen. As she walked towards the gate she tried to look casual. As the guards let them pass with out any complications she haltet a moment gazing into the distanance ahead of them, then their flanks.

((The vison only show her to this point right?))
