But it doesn't seem like those two are deterrent enough, so I feel like more is in order. And I think the simplest non-punishing way is to ensure that loot drops only when player actions have been the result of the fiends being put down. That's how it works in every other area... and I don't think low leveled people are inclined to sneak into other areas as much since they can't quite get away with it in those areas.

There are other areas where rival faction monsters fight, such as the Limbo storm and Baator.

(as this thread turns into my rough guide to cheap looting XD)

I think your overreacting to the situation.

Spotters spawn often enough to deter invis use for looting alot of times and should not be used for a pc to punish them from getting any loot. Temp chance using invis to go afk quickly with a group or your a caster thats just providing party buffs or just not capable of assisting for some reason like undergeared fighter should not be a determent to your party.

Best look? I dont know where you get the idea the treasure piles in the Abyss are "best" loot any where. They are usualy utter trash with once in a while spawning a rare gem, 800 gold and a bunch books/ scrolls. I never see items. And most of the bosses do have see invisibility already.

Level caps? Please. No. Iv been to the abyss at lv 7 to help level other characters and usualy around 12/13 when Im releveling characters that are already geared.

Also to Sinilara: You dont need wait for reset for treasure chests to respawn. You need a treasure partner to go with you to touch the chests to reset them and get their own loot too. it can be 5-15 min between but much easier then waiting for a reset/crash.

You guys know that the expression "over reacting" is incredibly obnoxious, right? You're suggesting to someone that their feelings are inappropriate. Find a way to express yourself without putting others down.

What I see here is that something needs to be done. A third-level character in the Abyss should be dying in seconds, invisibility spell or no invisibility spell.

+1, Ceremorph!

It should probably be harder. But my shadow dragon can and did pull it off, as can anyone with invisibility and the sense to avoid the fear auras and poison hezrou. It's not easy, to tell you the truth, but I've been playing this game for eight years or something. I certainly won't complain if the area is made more difficult to survive.

hmm ive just thought of a new character concept.. a minion of sorts that is hired to follow adventurers around and gather all the adventuers loot.. at the end of the day all the loot goes to the people who kill stuff but they get paid and such. .. This is an idea i got from watching the anime. is it ok to hit on girls in a dungeon

Personally I'd say that the problem extends to chests as well, seeing as how an invisible character can just sneak past basically every boss and get their loot without them knowing. Lest we forget that when Bilbo tried to do it it didn't exactly go well.

I'd suggest editing the loot-spawn scripts to not trigger when someone is invisible or stealthed. (I'd also prefer it if the chests could be looted more than once per server reset but, y'know... while I'm dreaming I might as well shoot for the stars.)

Every player, stealing other players' loots while being out-of-role, should be reported and kicked the first time. If he'll do that a second time, let it be temporarily banned. If he dares to do that a third time, may he be permanently banned.
I personally would have no tolerance with people that don't respect people playing, it's a matter of human respect, it has nothing to do with the playing of a role.
