We don't seem to hold objections based on any other merit and all of the other requirements, specifically those of quality and depicting of a fantasy character, have their exceptions.
Anyways. That's my gripe. Please disregard me, I know you don't make the rules and I really don't want to be a bother. I just wanted to be a bitch for a moment. ^_^
Actually I made them. I could have changed them, but I didn't, agreeing with what AA used to do. While I can like anime drawings, I want to give the server a realistic touch, and anime pictures rarely depict features as well as traditional (or more traditional) style does. And since photos are just out of question, this is my compromise. Anyways, I am willing to help you finding a suiting picture, or as Cere suggested, you can just change an eye color a bit.

I guess more than anything I'm just frustrated because this and this is allowed but the intersection between them isn't.

Anyways, I thought it might be worth it to try and make an appeal. Sorry for being a bother. ^^;; I'll see what I can do to recolor the other image and stop complaining already. If you still are up for helping me find something I'd really appreciate that, too! (Although that might best be taken to PMs...)

So I have a funny story.

I showed the image to a friend of mine who's an artist and asked if she had any guides or tips I could use. I was planning on spending up to an entire hour sitting there and manually editing every single pixel if necessary.

Three minutes later she hands me an edited version that couldn't have taken her more than two minutes to doctor and another minute to upload.

It took me more time to resize the image than it took her to make the change.

For those who want to do image editing : It's starting to be a little dated, but Adobe Photoshop CS2 is available for free, legally. Might need a little digging around to find it though.

And then she sends me another version with the highlights removed.

I am not worthy of such a great friend. :worship:

^ Vampire! Quite witchy, and the gothic background is great.

The last one under male human (the purple one) could easily work for a halfling or gnome though..

I might have to make a character just to use that particular image.

Truth be told, unless there are other scenery objects in a portrait to use as a size comparison? Most human and halfling, and some gnome portraits, are pretty interchangeable. It's hard to tell whether someone is 5'3" or 3'5" unless there's someone else in the picture to measure them against.
