The Four Pillars

A creepy place it is indeed- beautiful but threatening, the fog spreading a soothing golden light but nevertheless it hides whatever creatures may be moving in the bogs.

The water is silent, does not move, almost stale it surrounds the boat- looking like a bluegreen crystal sheet.

Slow is their progress but their guide tells them that they will leave this layer soon.

Shirala is helpful and seems happy with helping out, sharing her experiences and learning from Sasha.

She then stays back to tidy up, letting Sasha find the maps she needs.

After some searching through the archives Sasha finds four maps:

One of Amoria, showing this island right where it should be- a elaborately painted map from 80 years ago.

One of Belierin, showing the same island in this plane- about 30 years ago. Cross referencing to a map made at the same time which show Amoria shows the island is missing there.

The last map is only 10 years old and shows the island back in Amoria.

"It. . moves the whole island?" Sasha mused, "Or just a migrating island. . ."

She checked maps of Thalasia for it as well, before taking the most recent map to someone who might be able to help her make travel arrangements.

Jall waits, hoping the cervidal answer her queries. She observes the coating mists, but doesnt let her imagination run wild about what could be hiding in them.

Their guide answers the questions as the boats float over the crystal clea, calm water, the fog making it almost impossible to see their surroundings.

"The island appeared all sudden- surrounded by mists. We landed on a beach, some of od went to explore while the others worked to free our ship.

We heard of the pillar from rumours told by other sailors and when we talked to some of the locals we learned that it is found on this island. There were guardinals.. Aasimar.. but also rumours of darker creatures which are drawn to the pillar as well.

I did not see the pillar.. but I felt both serenity and warmth nut also a faint hunger on this island. As if something wants me to stay, needs me to stay.

We found the crewmen on the island itself... and there were a few rather tall cliffs, black and dark, spotted with bright, blue crystal. I never saw something like that before.

Overall the island was pleasant, meadows and woods surrounding the garden- which i never dared to enter though."

There it is.... on Thalasia as well- just harder to find, hidden well by surrounding terrain.

It seems that the island indeed is migrating between the layers- perhaps even following a pattern.

There are some experienced planeswalkers with contacts in the Elysium around- Thu'x is one of them, the half elven Bard and Woodsman who is said to still visit one of his loved ones there.

But there is also Lizza, a rather shadey one, some say a smuggler. She is a loyal sensate though and has a knack of finding (and opening) portals everywhere.

Sasha tracks down Lizza after hearing of her portal finding abilities, and tries to chat her up about the moving island, and the best way of reaching it. Naturally, she's invited along on the adventure, if she's interested. Its important! And gatecrashers are handy.

Jall nods '' i see. what was of the crewmen once they were recovered? did they get out of their stupor, or lingering effect still clutch them?''

''can you tell anything more about thosedark cliffs and crystals?''

''so the island move between layers. does it do sowith regular timing or is random, you think?''

"They are still like we found them. Clerics have tried to restore them but it is not an affliction or compulsion. It is said that they experienced something so intense that they are still caught in this memories. Other say that they have just been entrapped by this plane, like having lived a full lifetime here in just a few seconds."

The Cervidal leans against the railing, the surrounding crewmen silent now.

"I do not know much about the gems or cliffs.. I found them just interesting. A landmark that is easy to remember- we sailor's like those.

As for when or how this island moves.. your guess as as good as mine. I do not know much about those things."

Sasha finds Lizza in a more remote sector of the festhall, relacing on the couch, smoking her water pipe. Her half of her head is shaven bald, covered with tattoos as is most of her face and her visible skin.

"So you want to find that island? Never been there but heard the stories. It moves between all layers they say.. some speculate it might even Elysium's core... that the rest of the plane grew around it.

Sure I can open a portal to there, got some magicks that let us travel there too.... but be careful over there. there are stories."

Sighing she sits up.

"And I'll be honest sister- as soon as things start to look bad I get out of there as fast as I can."

'' i see'' Jall nods with a small exhales of breath, then asks ''any idea how long the isle linger in one spot at a time? also, i understood you found the island here in belierin? how long ago? i dont suppose you'd be able to pinpoint its location within the layer where you've met it?''

"I found it here..." The creature thinks for a moment before going on. "...not long ago. 150 years? But I fear I have no idea how often it changes its place. I am quite sure it is on Amoria right now, though.

And of course I can show you where it is on the maps... at least where I have found it."
