He sighs.
"Girl, I am not in mood to play games with you. I said before I do not care about you or your companions- nor your mission as long you do not interfere with mine.
Run down to your friends in the crypts and try to get some common sense in their heads. Despite what you think if you four do something stupid here the demons will kill us all. Tell them. Or die here with all of us. Your choice.
If you cannot be reasoned with I will let the knights here do what they must do for their temple.
Now hush, little pigeon. To your friends you go!"
He steps away, making the way free for her to pass between them.

Stymied once again by Mauric's refusal to go along with his plans, Dorian has little choice but to follow all the way to the end and see where this farce leads.
As they confront what appears to be an old man, although appearances can so often be deceiving, Dorian says:
"When you sent out your invitation, it would have been churlish for us to refuse would it not?
I presume you are aware there is a demon army approaching, so let's cut to the chase why don't we? What do you want from us, and what do we get in return?"

-Ah! sorry for the delay. One would think you to be better concealed. That or you open a nice short cut for us closed to the zealots. By the tenth lord of the nine you seem in need of some assisance. Suppose you had some time to think your offer for freedom through enough times to awe us with your presentation.
-Time is not an ally here. Be quick and free. Loiter and remain here until eternitys end.
The creature probably had lied about the unawarness of him Mauric thought as his gaze diverted from the man and lingered on the runes which he tried to decipher.
-Hide us from sight or your nigh freedom shall be thwarted by the Knights. I don't reckon they let us out of their eyes reach for a second. *He spoke in a commanding tone*
The last remark was perhaps more to stress the creature with the possibility of an lost opportunity than he acually beliving it was in his power to shield them.

Dorian's suspicions grow. What does Mauric know that he did not?

ayase took a few moments to think her reply to hasclaan and what to do, meanwhile she tries to recall , or peeks again if she can't remember, if into the belltower there're lenghty lengths of ropes present, those usually pulled to make the bells sound. not like it would be a sure plan, just an idea to consider for the next few seconds

"I will leave this uncommented for now but will gladly admit you were right later."
Of course Hasclaan does not trust her at all but he is also not interested in unecessary bloodshed. His stance is far from tense but he is clearly ready for violence should it be necessary.
"However if you are planning to prove your last statement wrong by immediately trying to do something desperate or stupid do not let me stop you. I will leave that to the knights."

Ayase would recall the bell tower is filled with both bells and ropes as one would expect. As she stalls for time however the conversation draws attention and the Heronite clerics who administer to the sick draw closer and with them so may the time for flight fight or cooperation.

Below the temple the creature that wears the shape of an old man raises both hands in the manner of a kindly old grandfather who is harassed for sweets or money by unruly children. He listens to Dorian and then laughs amused at Mauric.
"You are right the demons will be here soon. I would love to help the two of you."
He says two not three.
"But the Heronites have me trapped here. So in short what I want from you is my freedom, in return I offer knowledge and power."

"Details old man... or whatever you are, details. We don't have time for long discussions, but we want direct answers, or you rot here for eternity, or what is left of it!
Knowledge I have, power I have. Tell me something i don't know, and freedom shall be yours!
TELL ME!!! WHERE IS MY GOD!"
Dorian screams this last part, having lost control of his emotions, perhaps the first time Mauric or anyone for that matter has seen Dorian do so.

ayase grunts mentally, eyeing the priests. either up the tower or down the crypt is a poor choice and a potential trap all the same. she cautiously steps out of her cover, empty hands in sight slightly rised
''as said, i am reasonable. make way, and i'll see that those fools down there won't make a mess more than we need. you may have your mission as well, and i'm not interested in it all the same''
she'd walk as distant as possible from anyone on her way to the crypt, ready to tumble out of reach and into the crypts should they attempt to seize her
