Maybe more generic profession splitting instead <.<... such as:
- Spellslinger (technically describes standard wizard/sorcerer/warlock varieties with no area of expertise, but decent and all)
- Battlemage (Purely combat based caster with likely armors, spells and abilities to make them tougher in solo combat)
- Gish/Spellsword/Bladesinger (A hybrid of spellcaster and weapon user, at times swing a chiv at opponents and other times uses spells, though often buff'n'smack fighting style)
- Healer/Group supporter (Character build that concentrates on buffing and generally strenghtening the group more than themselves.)
- Thief/Backstabber (A pretty standard rogue or assassin character that relies on the shadows, and team mates to hide their presence while they stab the vulnerable spots of the foes)
- Shapechanger (A character that is specialized in wildshapes or shapechanging.)
- Warrior (Pretty self-descriptive... but the standard warrior, be it using rage or more controlled fighting style)
- Jack o' all trades (A character that has no area of expertise, but rather is decent at everything... bards and rogues often make good in these areas)
- Noblish fighter (your standard duelist/swashbuckler whom fight more with style than with brute strength and greataxe)
- Bounty Hunter (A really vague description for more shady warriorish character)
- Battle Diviner (clerics and favored souls whom mostly concentrate on buffing themselves and just beat the monsters to tiny pieces so they don't need to actually heal the allies)
- Diviner (balanced divine class whom uses most of the abilities based on situation and need.)
... or something like that :P

Just saying ;) one main class rarely descripes any builds in NWN 2 hehe.
