Nyelthruna was born to a family of fisherfolks in the southern bank of the Ashan River. For her family, life and work were hard and she spent her early childhood divided between hard work on the household and helping make and keep fishing equipment and the more common passtimes of children.

She was always physically active and happily joined the constant competitions that are everywhere in Rashemi live, as well as brawls and playing Berzerker with the other children. As soon as she took notion of herself, she wanted nothing more than join a Lodge when becoming of proper age, to be a real character in the tales that so captured her imagination when told around the bonfires or sung during festivals.

She was tested for aptitude for magic at the age of ten, like every Rashemi child, and was found capable which meant she left her family behind to be taken to the Urlingwood and start her training in the secrets of Rashemi magic. Her progress was slow tho, as she showed little to no ability to learn The Art, even tho the potential had been tested and was there. Her reckless nature didnt help matters much, as she all but lacked the focus needed for a book-user. This led her to spend as much time alone as she could manage while in training, roaming the Urlingwood as only Wychlaren and apprentices can, and finding peace after exhausting herself and dreaming of better days as she watched the little Telthor fish in the puddles, probably her favorite hobby then, and the origin of her monicker.

Had it not been for one Hathran who took onto her to make a Witch out of Nyelthruna, she would probably be sent back to her fishing community by the time her colleagues were given their first masks, but it was not what The Three had planned for her. The old Hathran tried her best to teach Nyelthruna to reconcile her physical energy and berzerker-like rage with the focus needed to find her magic but it was to be a calling, not a teaching. The Hathran dreamed of the Three pointing at a sword then at Nyelthruna, and only when given battle training did she show her true affinity: The Power, and not The Art as the Wychlaren were trying to teach her.

At the age of seventeen she could fight with sword like a berzerker, and summon The Power like a proper member of the clergy. She had little use for traditional training and the Wychlaren knew that, but that would have to remedied with a much longer Dajemma (the trip to other lands that serves as rite-of-passage for all Wychlaren and Berzerkers) than normal, as she would have to learn through experience what the Witches could not teach with books and training.

At the age of 26, the week before she would start her Dajemma, Nyelthruna had constant dreams of The Three at thresholds, doorways and gates, beckoning to her. She told her mothers and sisters of her dreams, one particular Hathran suggesting she should take on a short trip while they debated the meaning of such dreams. After visiting Sembia and Cormyr, she returned home to learn that the Wychlaren had decided her visions meant The Three had chosen for her to go to Sigil, crossroad of the planes and take her Dajemma there.
