Bridget, her black dress cleaned up as best as possible, her bright purple hair straightened out, opens the door to a dusty office after knocking hesitantly. She states shyly to whomever might be manning the desk, "I would like to report a problem, one which will require an investigation. I believe this is the best office to do so, but please redirect me if I am mistaken."

The clerk looked down upon her and dryly replies;

"It would depend on the nature of the request. Please be more specific without spinning too much of a story. My break starts in ten minutes..."

Bridget nervously shuffles her feet. "Well, uh, you see... someone forced someone into signing away their own freedom to the original person, and... well, there weren't any witnesses, nor no notaries either affirming that the signature was placed under the person's own free will or not dominated nor coerced, which there couldn't be, as the person was forced to sign against their will, as who would sign away their freedom for nothing in return, a powerful wizard and all?"

She finally brings her rambling question to an end, and says, "It would be filed under Uran, if it was filed at all and she's not just being intimidated and lied to..."

The clerk looked at her blankly. He blinked once and frowned slightly then blinked againÂ… obviously trying to process what was said.

“So… you’re saying that you suspect someone signed away their freedom… contractual slavery?

If so, there would be a record of it in the archives. All slaves and contractual slavery contracts are required to be registered. Uran you said?”

He sends another clerk into the records chamber to have a quick lookÂ…

((at this point I would need to know if the Contract was registered and (if so) the contractual slave was registered as well.))

Bridget nods more firmly, now on more certain ground. "Signed it away with no gain to herself, a sure sign that it was coerced. And no witnesses, nothing to make it properly official-like."

She hesitates before scuffing her foot some more looking nervous. "But you see, the person that forced the contract, she's uh... kinda high up in the Triad, you see. So she could just be above the law..." She finishes sounding already defeated.

"It's Charae though, since I know you're going to ask..." she all but mumbles.

"I see..." the clerk answers. "If there is no record of the contract then I'll forward the information to an Administrator. No member of the Triad is above the law, miss... they must all abide by the law of Sigil.

I will require your name and a place you can be contacted. If an Administrator requires more information from you, they will want to know how to reach you."

He slide a piece of paper across the counter for Bridget to fill out.

Bridget takes the pen in her off hand and fills out the requested information, her handwriting shakey by course. Her name and address are apparently listed honestly however, Bridget being put for her name, and an apartment listed in what the scribe may recognize as being a tenement style building in the Hive ward.

The information soon reaches the desk of Garen. At first he pays it little attention. It is simply another potential court case to preside over at this point… something that can be dealt with at a later time. When he goes to put it in his “to do” pile, he realizes what it is. This is something that has recently been brought to his attention even before this point… so he decides to take a closer look at the information contained.

Once he has a chance to review it, he pens the following letter and has it sent over to the Prison to be delivered to Charae.
wrote:“Justicar Charae.

I require the following information to be provided to my office by end day tomorrow. Please ensure all original copies are delivered to my office, in person, with the contractual servant present.

- Proof of license to own slaves
- Proof of Contractual Agreement for Servitude signed by Uran and notarized by the Clerks office.
- Proof of Registration as Contractual slave for Uran and notarized by the Clerks office.

Please ensure all papers are original copies, signed and notarized.

Thank you

///Yeah, I merely stated "end of day tomorrow" as a matter of IG/RP mechanics. That's what Garen would have expected. it can be done here (on this thread) and at any time between now and whenever. No rush.
