I think you mean sequencer potions? Since we don't have contigency potions (although I'd love such :P)
They work like this:
- First you get one, they have their unique power, but alone it does nothing.
- If you drink it now, you get exactly nothing.
- If you cast a self-buff/healing/summon spell on it, it stores the spell so that next time you drink it, that said spell is fired up targetting at drinker. (other than specified spells can't be stored)
There also exists stronger sequencer potions which allows multiple spells to be stored same time.
Tip: Rename the potions after getting some spells added on them, that'll help you remember them much better.
Tip 2: You can only fill up one potion at a time, even if there was 10 stack of those potions, so better split them up and you'll keep up to date which one is filled and which one isn't.

Yeah sorry, I had a total brain fart there. Is there a list of spells that can be cast on an empty bottle?

It's a large list... generally these: (no spell level restrictions)
- Buffs (except the ones you can't target in items.. like ironbody/stonebody, but you can get shadow shields/storm avatars/energy immunities/displacements/ethereal visages/etherealness etc. added.)
- Summons (I-IX/undead ones and all others)
- Healing Spells (remove disease/greater restoration/heal/vigor/cure poison.. etc)

Can you make a Sequencer potion of say Heal or Greater Restoration and then give it to someone else to use?

Yup, that's very possible, same for any other spells, it triggers to the drinker each time, but anyone can store the spells.

Can such potions be crafted via the Brew Potions feat?
